I guess Howard Stern loves lesbians more than he loves Bill O'Reilly
This is a fricking hoot to read. I'm not sure why Stern was on 'The O'Reilly Factor' or why O'Reilly would agree to have Stern on the show but hell if I knew even I would have watched it. I guess the best part was when O'Reilly offered Stern a jacket from his line of crap but then took it back because he was worried some Lesbian would end up wearing it.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200512090016

O'Reilly on Factor jacket he offered to Stern: "I'm not having this on some lesbian somewhere"
Summary: Bill O'Reilly told radio "shock jock" Howard Stern to give back a Factor jacket O'Reilly had offered him because, O'Reilly said, "I'm not having this on some lesbian somewhere. It's not going to happen."

On the December 8 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, host Bill O'Reilly offered a Factor jacket to radio "shock jock" Howard Stern. After Stern said, "I won't wear it, but I will give it to a crack whore" and handed it back, O'Reilly told him: "I'm not having this on some lesbian somewhere. It's not going to happen."

O'Reilly's comment came during part two of his three-part interview with Stern. Throughout his December 8 television show, O'Reilly read teasers for the taped interview:
"And part two of my interview with Howard Stern. He has some problems with The Factor, and he's sticking up for lesbians."
"And later, Howard Stern, a walking controversy. He talks about how lesbians have made him millions. Upcoming."
"Howard Stern has some problems with The Factor but no problems with lesbians. We'll discuss the issues with him."
"When we come back, part two of my interview with Howard Stern. He's got some problems with The Factor but no problems with lesbians. Don't miss this one. Right back with it."

if Stern said he would have given the jacket to Fred Phelps or some other bigot like that Daniel Carver KKK guy O'Reilly probably woudn't have cared.

6. I think O'Reilly's jealous

Of Howard's lifestyle. He gets all these beautiful women's attention and has a girlfriend and tons of money and he's intelligent. And probably gets invited to better parties than O'Reilly.

13. It's not unusal. one is struck by the frequency of "shocking"

revelations about on-line porn, out of control hookers, the shame of "girls gone wild" and other important items on the FOX news channel.

It always reminds me of the "bikini page" in British tabloids.

Of course, it is Stern's stock in trade, aside from the occasional Bush tirade. Or are they more frequent now?

15. Apparently he made Stern agree not to mention "loofah/falafel" on the
interview... I was really surprised not to hear Stern bring this up, especially since the interview was otherwise so confrontational, and Stern is usually a "pick at the scabs" kind of guy.

I was a little bummed out that Stern didn't call O'Reilly out on saying they were both working class Long Island boys.

16. It's All About Money & Ratings
For Stern: To use his famous quote "Lesbians = Ratings"...and just saying this gets him attention. Look at how titilated O'Reilly was throughout...couldn't get that image out of his perverted head. Stern found his ideal listener in O'Reilly.

The reason Stern met O'Reilly and visa versa was strictly business. Stern needs to get more people signed up for his satellite deal...and he's making the rounds on the talk shows to promote it. Stern listeners don't need to know about this change...most already have their radios...he's going into "enemy" and "virgin" territory to get the word out. XM has a lot at stake here and Stern's pitching like Mark Buerle...fast and quick.

For O'Reilly, he's playing town fool and laughing all the way to the bank. The outrage at San Francisco, the phony xmas scam and now Stern are all intended to pull eyes and ratings books to his show. It's like the town degenerate...he sits on the corner and when you walk past he opens his trencoat...you're either turned on or revolted...but either way, he's gotten your attention.

I thought the O'Reilly/Stern meeting was amusing...as neither appeared to be listening to the other and, besides the promotion, were looking for points they could take back to their respective shows later on to fuel a feud or set up the next "controversy". Call this P.T. Barnum 101....

21. Just the fact that O'Really stretched the interview out
for 3 days is a good indication he's milking it for the ratings. He could have run the whole interview in one night.

Edited on Sat Dec-10-05 12:54 PM by tlsmith1963
...although he is right about Stern's lesbian following. I used to work with a woman who was a lesbian, & she listened to Stern all the time. Stern's not really my style, though. He can be funny occasionally, but most of the time he's not my thing. I like how he annoys people like O'Reilly, though.
