How bright does your hatred burn?
I don't like to hate, and will avoid it at all costs.

My hatred of Bush and his cabinet has become intense though. It reminds me of all the hatred I've witnessed from the rightwing, and that isn't a good feeling.
Sometimes I lay awake in bed trying to get to sleep, and day(night)dream about kicking Bush in the balls as he comes past me to shake hands. How nasty is that....kicking a guy in the nuts when he reaches out to shake your hand!!!
The thing is though I think of him now in the same light I would consider a child rapist or a serial killer. Imagining some physical retribution on such a person (especially if you have some personal stake in thier crimes) is a satisfying thing.

Even as I watch his downfall and feel assured that his chapter in history will be a shameful one, it gives me no joy or relief.

If you're a thinking man I believe Bush and his cabal of foreign policy puppet masters have had a deeply negative impact on your sensibilities. That's my take on it.

They play US, the voters, FOR chumps. If we're all going to hell in a handbasket we might as well write properly on the way down.

2. Not as much as yours. I'm in my seventies and hate accomplishes
nothing.

Get out and work for the poor in your local community, get active politically,do something constructive.

This too shall pass.

13. Not as much, meaning you still do.
I do Amnesty work. I am politically active also (can't let Bush-light Stephen Harper squeek in here!)

I know hate doesn't serve us. I'm not 70, but I"m more than half way there. I feel like I'm purposely wallowing in this Bush-hate not only because he's so deserving of it due to his crimes against America and humanity but also because I believe I can withstand it.

And I'm a Canadian. I can't imagine how most Americans must feel about the man. His leadership is a curse and a sickness on your nation.

3. I don't hate Bush or his cabal.
Well, maybe a bit, but hatred is a useless emotion.

Posterity will judge them appropriately. And there is no appeal against that.

10. I have never HATED politicians before,
have disliked them, have distrusted them, have laughed at them, have scorned them, have been cynical about them.....but this administration and the puke party, I absolutely HATE. If they were on fire, I wouldn't piss on them. It's a new feeling for me....am getting used to it, and now I like my hate. I'm worried about me.

14. You'll be OK.
If you got it, then just keep it focussed where it belongs and don't allow it to jade anything else.

My advice, for what it's worth (not much!)

15. A Thin Line Between Love And Hate
To hate someone or something, you must have loved or cared about it at one time. I've never loved nor cared about anything Repugnican...nor ever will. I think apathy and disgust fit my feelings.

So when we gonna get out the torches and pitchforks? Huh?????

Edited on Wed Dec-07-05 10:31 PM by pennylane100
I spent two days in bed after the first time he got selected, knowing that he would be the very worst thing that could happen to this country. But I still didn't think he would be this bad.

Now that was hate! Hate against so many of the same things that we all oppose here today thirty years later; Only back then, they literally shook the shit out of the powers of greed, corruption, and disdainers of human decency and mother earth.

27. Please don't romanticise them ----some of the "revolutionaries"
in the 6o's and 70's were just plain nuts.

A neighbor of mine was killed by some of the "revolutionaries" from Brandeis University.

They were ugly times.

30. Flickering
I'm just getting older. I hated him as much as I ever WOULD hate him from the 2000 debates on. Now I don't have the energy to hate as much, I guess it peaked again in Oct. '04, now it's about rebuilding my own life after years spending half my time hating someone who doesn't give two shits about me...

32. I know how you feel
I've never felt this much anger for someone before like I do Bush. *sigh* It's a weird feeling for me hating someone like this and makes me uncomfortable sometimes, but I know it's also healthy to not bottle up my emotions. So it's nice to keep a journal and rant and rave and have a place like here at DU. :)
