The Crucifixion. would THAT qualify as torture?
or simply rough treatment? and being forced to drag a huge wooden cross through town...torture? what about a good ol' stoning? nothin' wrong with stoning is there? it's biblical even.

3. No, on account of the govt. rendered Jesus to the Romans.
So technically, it wasn't really torture because the government didn't do it.

6. Nope. It was for a "noble cause."
Also, to the Romans, Jesus represented "the enemy."

7. It is punishment, cruel and unusual punishment.
Torture is pain inflicted to gain information. The Romans didn't need any information from Jesus.

9. Not by Cheney's standard but by the Romans it was the worse sentence
or at least one of the most painful sentences a convict could receive.

10. NeoCons play WWJD but their real role models are the Romans.
It's one of the most ironic things - they love to talk Jesus, but it's the Roman Empire they emulate in thought and in deed.
