Microsoft to invest $1.7 billion in India

Microsoft plans to pour $1.7 billion into India over four years and employ another 3,000 people to deepen its presence in the fast-growing software player, Chairman Bill Gates said Wednesday.

So, bill, when's the next time you're going to tell us all to sign up for computer and engineering classes? Tomorrow?

4. What's wrong with investing in India?
It’s an intelligent position to take as their economy is growing very quickly.

5. While the investment in foreign countries is killing our own job market
and economy. Yeah, that's not only smart, that's being a real true blue patriotic American. But then again, I guess it's not fashionable anymore to 'Buy American' or support the American workers.

6. There is nothing wrong with "buying American"
Nor is there anything wrong with investing in India. Like I said before, their economy is booming and if you believe in investing wisely, you cannot afford to overlook that fact.

2. Another reason to *not* buy Microsoft,
support open standards (esp. in Massachusetts right now with OpenDocument),
and support the OPEN SOURCE movement.

Yes, I am a programmer.
