Have we been scammed?

OK, that's still pretty bad, butI'm pretty sure they were saying 50-70% a couple of months ago... when prices were higher than they are now. Have we been scammed? Were they trying to get people (like me) to lock in a rate while the prices were high?

I've been looking at my agreement closely trying to figure out how they are going to jack my so-called locked-in rates, because there is no way they are going to sell me gas at 50% below market rate. Well, maybe now I know: Perhaps it was never going to go up that high anyway.

1. I think the oil & gas companies are playing games

If they hadn't scared you with their 50-70% increases, you would have griped about the nearly 30% increase you do have. Instead, you're counting yourself lucky.

3. exactly my thoughts about the gas prices going up this summer.

now we are all happy with gas prices at $2.25 and the oil companies are laughing all the way to the bank.
