"Activist" forum - 3 posts and 2 replies in 24 hours
I remember when the "activist" forum was launched, it was quite a robust place.

Here is the activity for the past 24 hours:

2006: 435 Districts - 435 Blogs Catchawave Tue Dec-06-05 05:36 PM 0 0
Just do it paineinthears... Tue Dec-06-05 01:14 PM 0 2
NAACP Out of Iraq Now Resolution Anita Garcia Tue Dec-06-05 12:02 PM 2 0

This may be hard to read, but I'll decypher - Three new posts, two replies.

I'm at a complete loss. Seems people would rather spin their wheels than to engage in concrete actions.

As LBJ was fond of saying, it's time to shoot the guns in the air (translation, call off the hunt).

3. Let's face it
The Internet, for all the good it's done in uniting us, has also made us lackadaisical in taking actual action.

I just hope next time ANSWER organizes a protest in DC, we don't get the usual critics saying they would have attended if only someone else had organized it.

4. Look at it this way.....
Things are cooking on the stove. Many are grouping with their candidates and setting up campaign strategies. Thats what I'm doing this month. Many campaigns will launch in January 06.

5. We had a lot of enthusiasm...
but we currently have no leadership.

I think we need a small (temporary) steering committee to get us going. There's so much that needs to be done and many of us crave a focussed effort.

Whaddaya say?

9. Activist HQ is located at.....

Perhaps the admins can reinstall the statement of purpose. It used to be "pinned" at the top.

8.  I usually post actions to GD. Something about not
wanting to run over leadership in the AF.

You know, DU is a powerful entity. When we act in concert, we get stuff done.

What do you suggest re the AF? Listening. :)

10. I thought it was a place to post and discuss concrete actions.
Then the admins chose which to focus on and DU too ACTION.

Rememer the letter writing campaigns?

I'm proposing getting back to roots.

12. I agree with that. These Bush Bastards set so many fires
is it literally too hard to keep up with them.

And, a lot of effective actions come right out of grass root creativity.

:)

16. Me, either. But we can handle it. We prioritize.
Come on, show me anything DU hasn't been able to get done? :)

We can do this. We need a prioritizing mechanism.

18. I actually come here
to rest from all the activating I am doing in real life. I think I am probably not alone, lots of people here are very involved. I get so many good ideas here and get all my news here and it is actually fun to post sometimes so that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

No I am not making fun of you. You are right but still that is my reason, good or not.
