Let's Face it...We Dems are Dead and Gone and Buried...and what's left
Edited on Tue Dec-06-05 08:36 PM by KoKo01
is being picked over by the carrions. The Media is out there "setting up Spin" for Bush Witdrawal from Iraq...and the Scandals are coming down the pike..but it's REPUG JUDGES and BUSH JUSTICE DEPARTMENT who will...in the end...decide who goes down...with light counts and pardons and the rest of the "let them go lightly" crap.

Dem Party has tried..and those who have been STALWART SUPPORTERS (not the Lobbyists) have tried so HARD FOR REFORM...but in the end...REPUGS VS. DEMS...It's the SAME OLD CRAP...Same Old and Same Old.

And..that's been since the 60's...when for once after FDR we had a BRIGHT NEW SHINING PRESIDENT...and he was trashed and killed.

My whole history with the Dem Party is always "Trash and Kill...Trash and Kill...Trash and Kill...

Until...there is no one left to stand as a Hero? Maybe there ARE no Champions...Maybe it's all an Illusion. Maybe this Country is SO FUCKED UP that nothing is left but spoils to the Media Whores...Carrion..picking over the bones and reassembling them in their own fashion? VULTURES of Our Lives? Or just the Normal Course of Human Events?

If a 55 mph speed limit is something I need to support to be a liberal, then I'm not really interested in remaining one.

Other than that, I have no objection to your fine post

I think masterbation is an EXCELLENT alternative to pre-marital sex and it was about time someone fucking (no pun intended) said it.

20. There are so Many Dragons left out there...We must be the "Dragon Slayers"
but what my post is trying to say is...I think the Dragon Slayers are going to end up working for BOTH PARTIES!

In the end it's not going to be Repugs or Dems but US...the AMERICAN PEOPLE!

The fight moves on BEYOND PARTY affiliation... That's what I think, anyway. The Fight for Human Rights now goes beyond both Party Affiliations..neither of which seem to be able to work for us out here.

 Just my opinion.

Corzine won in NJ. Seems the past election is a better reflection of where the Democrats stand.

The Democratic Party is alive and well and kicking Republican butt.

4. No -- you're nuts
I see the end of the Republican party. I genuinely don't see how it can survive the number of scandals rocking the party. A poll indicates that folks in DeLay's district would go for an unnamed Democrat over DeLay. That's quite a change.

Because it will.

This is not the same old same old. This is different. Katrina, among other things, has made it different. And Delay and Schiavo and... I could go on but you get my drift.

Don't do this to yourself. This is the eternal struggle and it will go on long after you and I are gone. But right now we are on the high road and I like the view from here.

Forget about spin. Sure some will believe it, but not enough to keep the bastards in power. BELIEVE IT

getting to that "New Day" takes those of us who have been out there in the "trenches" to work and reassess the Battle Plan.

Some of us are really sick and tired of the "Spin and Bait" culture here in America...reflected in our Media.

especially for those that have done so much, some people might not agree, but I believe letter writing, phone calling and the like to be just as exhausting as many other jobs and definately overlooked by many who think what they might do is much more important, all jobs are important no matter what one does as long as they do something no matter how small it might seem...

27. I Posted Something Akin To This Earlier At Politics
What I want to know is WHY when "the corrupt ones" in the WH NOW, change THEIR minds they aren't called FLIP-FLOPPERS!!

KoKo, I'm sooooo with you here. Call me a Push Me/Pull Me Doll! I know not where to go sometime. I fervently want to quash these thieving imbeciles, see an opening, get my hopes up, run around hootin' and hollerin' only to find in a few days time I'm the one who got QUASHED!!!

I keep coming back here because it's where I can wrap myself in what? Self pity? Don't know. Dems just seem to fracture themselves, lose UNITY or don't even get UNITY! It's all over the place and then they seem to roll over and play dead!

How many times have I caught myself screaming at the "boob tube?" What can I do? I walk the walk, I talk the talk and believe me I do it ALL THE TIME! Coming from a family of 6 girls, it is I that is labeled POLITICAL! Always with the facts in my head, and when not there know just where to find them. But who cares??? I babble politics and work politics and march politics, but sleep less at night. These days I feel more FEAR than ever before. It's insanity because I don't want to abandon the Democrats, but where does one go when we just seem to be standing still???

MSM... leads tonight about just HOW The Idiot's are fighting back, and rehash the Dean Scream!!! I first campaigned for George McGovern so I've been around the block once or twice.

Sure I backed Clinton (as a liberal, a bit strange) drove 4 hours to see him, worked hard for him too. Worked my heart out for Kerry/Edwards, really really hard! Did the same for almost ALL the Dems around, but sometimes look down and see that I'm only holding Candy Cotton as it evaporates before my eyes.

But I simply can't say that I back everything America does simply because it says America! My country, right or wrong... no that's not the way to be. A true Patriot will fight for their country, so I tell myself.

But I, like you fall into that awful pit so many times and wonder out loud... What The Hell Is Going On???

33. I KNOW...WHAT YOU SAY! And why Shouldn't we VENT! And work towards
something Better?

I'm thinking down the road it's GOTTA BE...THIRD PARTY...but not the kind of "Third Parties" we've known in the past like Nader, and the rest who caused all kinds of trouble...even Ross Perot who got folks involved them left them at the Dumpster at the first chance he got some folks coming back at him.

I think...there will be a Huge FUSION of Disenfranchised Dems and Lefty Repugs who split off and run from Bush Neaderthal and "Salem Witch Trial" Politics who come together and form a "New Alliance."

I'm a way Lefty almost Socialist Dem on Human Rights Issues...but lean more to the Center Right on a few peanut issues.

There are many of us who don't quite fit in either Party....OUR DAY IS COMING! Unless the Dem LEADERSHIP WAKES UP...

That's what I'm saying, here. Feeling some "discontent" from myself and others who have worked so hard for Dems...that the "payback" is lacking..and we might need to move on from here. I expect there are others who are getting tired of being "Spun and Played."

38. Hey, I Even Went So Far As To Attend Some Green Party
meetings. All 20 of us!!!

From Britain we came basically, at least they still have "Question Time" in Parliament!!

I'm sure you've seen the angst by many here at DU about a Third Party, but what??? And how??? I'm a lefty too, but agree with you about those "peanut issues" but that's not a problem. I'm for CHOICE, not necessarily Abortion. Glad I never had to look it in the face, but don't really want my daughter to have one. So there you go. I'm "in your face" but generally don't squash the grapefruit up your nose. More a "kill 'em with kindness type" that comes in the back door when they ain't looking.

It's a bitch, Politics I mean. Gets in your blood and saps your energy, a true ADDICTION!

Remember that Bible phrase... seek and ye shall find? I'm really looking hard.

41. the Dems are NOT dead
there are several key issues, however, that the Dems refuse to engage on and this continues to kill the Party and the country ...

the issues all involve big money and the corruption of our democracy ... lobbyists poison the halls of Congress, our foreign policy is for and by mega-trans-national corporations and money has totally polluted our elections process ...

need an example? the Democrats have finally come around to saying the pre-war intelligence was "manufactured and manipulated" ... but they never address bush's motives ... we have an enemy in right-wing America who has sold out the country for commercial gain and Democrats refuse to tell the truth to the American people ... you can't win the battle if you won't identify the enemy ...

the Party isn't dead but it cannot reclaim its majority status either until it takes the gloves off and starts doing some truth-telling; the Dems aren't dead; they just seem that way ...

"elected Reps" would take care of it for us. We were WRONG! Under Clinton the Congress turned Conservative. We just didn't recognize it for what it was at the time. And, I'm not blaming us out here because we've tried to make up for our "Trust" ..."Innocent Trust" in "Checks and Balances." And we organized here on DU..ONE OF THE VERY FIRST AND ONLY "FORUM" where we could address our grievances.....and we combed "Bart Cop" and "Salon" for every tidbit of news that would verifiy what our "truthful eyes...not lying eyes...were telling us."

The darkest hour was usually from around 2AM to 3AM. The sky would get a little lighter blue around 4 and then in a couple of hours dawn would occur.
