Republican strategy for the day. Full court press on talk radio!
Attack the Democrats for partisanship! hold our troops together. Hol the fort! Defend the Chimp! Divert all discussion on this topic elsewhere.

They have total faith in their radio congregation and they believe this will help to calm the waters. The memo has gone out already.

1. Talk radio?
Troops are dying in the desert, and these thieving chickenshit bastards can't come out and face the media?

Sorry to sugarcoat it; I'll say what I really think when I can organize my thoughts.

15. That's how the dark side operates
Elected Rethugs can't publicly display the true ugliness behind their agenda--so they created an entire industry from the ground up to do it for them and appeal to the fears, biases, anger, etc. of the people that comprise their base.

It really is amazing, though, how they've got it down to a science. From limbaugh down to the tinyest local yahoo, they are right on message all the time. The dems--why I don't know--have no comparable operation.

2. I heard a lady today
On my way to work saying:

(Paraphrase) I can't believe all the horrible things my liberal friends are saying about *. He's the greatest President we've had since Ronald Reagan. :puke:

Talk show host: They're just playing partisanship and trying to put a chink in *'s armor. Remind your liberal friends that Joe Lieberman said that the WMD's are there and will be found.

HA! As if THAT will convince us of anything.

5. Let them have talk radio...
Truth is on our side.

Contact your Senators and tell them you want an investigation:

www.senate.gov

Also, write a letter to your local paper.

11. the choir is all that is important to them...
Because with the vote of the choir, they can win. Because their PR and propaganda can tear down the opposition enough so that there is a minimal number of voters turn out and the choir wins!

4. Listening to a local yahoo this morning...
..he actually said that Bush NEVER said that OBL and SH were connected and NEVER said that OBL was responsible for 9/11.

Oh, but of course he pulled out Clinton's '99 SOTU to try to show that Clinton said OBL and SH were connected. He read it, including admitting there was a substantial space between the two references.

It was such a stretch and blatantly revisionist that it made my head hurt.

6. Counter with word on the steet
Get the buzz out. Last time my fiancee and I went grocery shopping we worked the phrase "Bush Lied, People Died" into our conversation frequently (particularly when nearing other people). Get the word out. We don't have the media but we can take the streets.

7. I think a MAJOR public relations assault is "imminent"
The repukes have been sitting back. I think they are waiting for Tony Blair to come over so they can maount a total assault on the dems. Blair will support Bush's "the British have learned . . . " SOTU comment and try to paint dems as partisan, unpatriotic hacks.

It's keeping the story alive. The damage is done. As long as the Dems don't cave (please please please don't cave!!) Their only hope is if it somehow goes away, but it's not...

13. sorry, Bushies, no traction today

Until and unless the White House outs whoever put the Niger stuff into the SOTU, there is no way talk radio can overcome a nation's curiosity. The slavering wingnuts will then pull out the old chestnut, liberal media bias, to wrench the ball back into their court. Bush has got to at least pretend that he's "looking into the matter" before his side can sideline the story.

14. It's funny how the truth....
is stronger than charges of "liberal media" or "partisan politics". Democrats need to say in so many words that those charges are a bunch of diversionary crap. It is about the truth. Are our troops dying because of a lie? We have a right to know. It's not about "liberal media". Just give us the truth and stop stonewalling, OK?
