after listening to the Katrina hearings broadcast by C-Span today.
Since words cannot describe...I am speechless. Even more speechless about the seeming lack of discussion about the hearings here at DU. I am truly speechless.

4. I found out about the hearing here on DU

and then streamed it on C-SPAN at work. I'm sorry I didn't catch more of it than I did. Speechless is the exact reaction I had, too.

Uncalled for. There was a big thread (actually several).... Many of us will have to watch the replay on C-SPan because WE WERE AT WORK....

I understand and share your feelings about what has happened to those left behind to suffer Katrina and the willful negligence of our country. But, don't lash out at your fellow DUers. That is truly not called for.

8. It was truly outrageous. I have never heard of such a display

I didn't get to see CSAN today, but I did see the segment on CBS. Pretty shameful how hypocritical Republicans are.

to remind many that the victims of Katrina still need our attention...

Granted, sometimes one subject seems to have more threads than others, but du for the most part is not ignoring the injustices that are still facing the victims of Katrina...

They are also worried about the victims of this war, rising health care costs, cut wellfare programs etc, etc, etc, there is just so many that need to be touched upon and helped right now..

Sometimes it seems pretty overwhelming for many.

DU has helped spread the awful news coming out of NOLA. I've read hundreds of threads here detailing the situation.

What can we do? There are a hundred things going on and more is sure to come... there is no reason to bash DU because of the bush failures.

16. Sorry, but I am not "bashing DU" I love DU. Just making an observation.

I realize that the Katrina subject touches all our nerves but these hearings are a must if you want to consider being informed. It is related in a sinister way to what is going on in Iraq in our names. If our military and National Guard can treat our own citizens as described by these victims, god only know what they are doing to Iraqis.

We are supposed to be here for eachother,...in order to be a healthy and growing and powerful nation.

We are not yet a healthy and growing and powerful nation. We are still a people being manipulated and exploited, sadly. :cry:

We are also a people who will overcome, become stronger, grow closer, be powerful so long as we invest more of ourselves in our best rather than spending ourselves on the assholes in charge.
