4. Actually it's a good question
that might get some of the viewers thinking...since the answer becomes pretty obvious.

2. All most Iraqis want is to help the US leave their country.
The the Emperor isn't ready yet (neither, it seems is the Imperial Senate ready)...

5. They are. They're helping us kill people who live in a country that
we attacked for corporate interests.

6. Help US soldiers do WHAT, exactly? Nobody knows what we are up to.
Crap, I can't figure out what the US's goals are, and if I were an Iraqi, I'd be wondering if by helping the US military I wasn't hurting my own country, religion or cause, whatever it may be.

8. the naive caller ought to be asking...
why are US soldiers risking their lives if the Iraqis themselves don't do much to "help" the US soldiers?

(that gets to the basic question of the policy itself)

10. If an invader attacked your country, caused tremendous destruction and..
then occupied your country, wouldn't YOU have a tendency to call them the enemy and hate THEM?? If you are an Iraqi and help the enemy (THE USA), then I would call that being a traitor to Iraq. There are other perspectives involved in this war, other than our own. I think a lot of narrow minded people forget this.

11. Probably because they really don't like to kill their countrymen?
What I get confused about is that they can train a US Infantryman in 12 weeks or so - from SCRATCH, yet it has taken two years so far to train an Iraqi military comprised 65% of men with previous military excperience.

12. They are, they have been doing a lot more of the torturing
In fact I dare say that more killing and torturing is going on now by Iraqis against Iraqis than all the years of Saddam put together. I think Americans are still torturing but they are doing it in Kazakhstan or some such.....

14. Why did the Americans NOT helped the British during the Revolution?
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 12:19 PM by happyslug
The British were fighting a SLAVE OWNING OLIGARCHY, why did the non-slave owning New Englander NOT helped the British in this effort? Why did the non-slave owning small Middle State farmer NOT helped the British? Why did the Southern who did not own slaves fight so hard against the British? Could it be that BRITAIN INVADED AMERICA?

I will not go into what the Slaves did (Most backed the British) and as to the Slave owners they tend to split both ways. You can always fins a minority of any country to support an invading army. This is especially true of discriminated minorities (such as the Blacks and Slaves in the US) but to win you need the Majority of the people to at least accept the Invasion, something that HAS NOT HAPPENED IN IRAQ (Nor happened in the US during the Revolution, not Vietnam during the Vietnamese War).
