Former 9/11 Commissioners: U.S. at Risk
Edited on Sun Dec-04-05 07:19 PM by Jon8503
(((The WH & Republicans constantly use the fear tactic. Constantly refer to 9/11 but yet do nothing to defend against the terrorists.)))

WASHINGTON - The U.S. is at great risk for more terrorist attacks because Congress and the White House have failed to enact several strong security measures, members of the former Sept. 11 commission said Sunday.

"It's not a priority for the government right now," said the former chairman, Thomas Kean, ahead of the group's release of a report Monday assessing how well its recommendations have been followed.

"More than four years after 9/11 ... people are not paying attention," the former Republican governor of New Jersey said. "God help us if we have another attack."

Added Lee Hamilton, the former Democratic vice chairman of the commission: "We believe that another attack will occur. It's not a question of if. We are not as well-prepared as we should be."

The five Republicans and five Democrats on the commission, whose recommendations are now promoted through a privately funded group known as the 9/11 Public Discourse Project, conclude that the government deserves "more Fs than As" in responding to their 41 suggested changes.

1. So what, they didn't listen to the warning the clinton appointed commision
hart/rudman said, they ignored the august 6th pdb, plus numerous others, and they didn't care about it after 9/11

The people in this country voted for an incompentent administration, NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE

If God-forbid something like 9/11 happens again, I have ever confidence that the morans in this country will reward mediocrity again

2. Does anyone take the "War on Terror" seriously?
Considering 9/11 was a 'black op' U.S. military attack and the 9/11 commission should be arrested for treason for abetting mass murder, these statements are more like threats than warnings.

4. Thank You Sir!
I just joined DU and I am planning to go and battle every knucklehead here at this site that STILL DOES NOT GET IT. There is no left vs right, just the thinking people battling the evil of the phony 'War on Terror" So far some of the biggest dupes are the college educated 'liberal' Democrats.

6. Hi NXNGRG, Please Understand, You can debate all you want and
try to change the minds of those that do not believe MIHOP, but it would be against the rules to attack them in such a way that labels them Knuckleheads, or if you attack them verociously for not believing because you are so passionate about it.

You can convince as much as you want, but since you're new (i'm still new myself) I just wanted you to be aware that if you have an important message you want to send and want to be around long enough to make an impact on those that need to hear it, you have to do it in a civil and patient manner.
