"Future of the Republican Party" on C-Span right now.
I am watching a panel discussion of all Republican pollsters at the Univ. of Va. They are discussing the Party and what they can do to remain in a winning position form here on.

They have touched on how 911 defined Bush but Katrina changed that perspective.

They have touched on elevating their special interest groups, (the same way the Dems did in the 70s, of course, they HAD to say it.)

Now they are discussing the fact that "Dems don't get punished for tax cuts."

1. One says that DeLay has become a lightening rod for the right...
He helps motivate Dems, according to this pollster.

But they are having trouble saying that they want DeLay back. Now that DeLay is out looks like some GOPS are getting some nerve or backbone.

2. Panel moderator brings up Abramov...
Asks why more Repubs don't speak out against him.

Now talking about Dems will miss Bush because they have nothing else to be angry about. Our enemy. Say we will have nothing left to hate when Bush leaves.

Say Dems are all about "move on, move on, move on...."

Brings up contract on America does not mention Clinton or America or liberal.

4. It's fascinating. They control the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial
... branches of government, the majority of Governorships, and have created such an enormous disaster of human rights, and economics in multiple nations that they're worried about their 'future'? These people belong in straitjackets. Their only 'problem' is that having such control exposes the fact that nobody else can be blamed for their abysmal failures! They want to be royalty so bad that they've become royal fuck-ups.
