I turned away to do something and back to the screen and it was over. What was that all about?

1. the unemployment rate
it supposedly is at 5%

it was a drive-by speech - over and done with it

basically saying "it's a good sign"

4. Frist and Bennett's press conference was longer just
before it. Obviously choreographed to precede *'s statement. That looked positively stupid. The reporters there were hooting after it was over. Thus the nation dies the death of 1,000,000 cuts by PR.

7. South Carolina's unemployment is 6.5%
I guess because the national rate is so swimming we should be greatful.

9. I'm thinking in a day or two there will be a correction
there usually is after Bush remarks on the economy / unemployment - a press statement is released correcting the numbers.

11. it may be 5% -- but it doesn't take into consideration that many
who lost their jobs had to take lower paying ones.

14. Going from paying the mortgage and two car payments, having health
insurance, and able to afford soccer camp for the kiddies, to "Ya want some fries with that?" makes no difference to these assclowns.

So long as the rich get richer, they just do not care...

Fallujah, 11 wounded....

He escaped in the nick of time.

22. Pretty funny, innit?
The reason he is so unsuccessful thus far in his efforts to fight back is because the two evil schemers who did all the heavy lifting for him in the past are on the outs with his Bunker Gang. Condi, Karen, Harriet et al may be loyal, but they do not have the cutthroat instincts of Rover and Five Deferments Dick.

This is telling, though--the media isn't focusing exclusively on his jobs/economy bullshit. I've got the tube on, watching MSNBC, and they opened the piece on that by noting that ten guys died, and today Monkey REFUSED to answer questions on Iraq.

Awww, poor Dunce cannot catch a break!

No wonder he wouldn't take any questions.
All he could do was smirk and laugh.

I think it would be a great Countdown segment. It was incredibly obvious and downright stupid. Who's handling PR at the WH now?

I think the gas prices came down some to save his sorry political butt. He called in some favors.

21. We're not suppose to think about that. We're suppose to be grateful
the prices are lower, period. Doesn't matter if they're still higher than even a year ago. These criminals really think that we are all stupid and have no recall.
