The Irony - Banning Violent Video Games but Pursuing War
Oh it could not be more ironic.

We have a group of politicians who want to ban or further label violent video games yet some of these same politicians vote YES to war.

So it is not okay to kill in the virtual world but it is perfectly okay to kill in the real world?

Once a family member told me she didn't know if it was appropriate for my son to see the Lord of the Rings movies because they were violent. I countered that the movie was make believe that my kids were aware of that and I knew they could handle viewing the movies, but that in the real world there are children who are watching as friends and family are blown up before their very eyes and "that is just okay"....

Perhaps the politicians want to manage the "virtual world" because they really don't know how to manage and deal with the real world.

1. I'm not a big fan of violence, and watch out for what my son watches,
but what cracks me up are these fundy parents who told us that they thought Gladiator was such a wholesome family movie because there was no sex or bad language.

Now, someday, I expect my son will have some type of sexual intercourse, and I figure he will use "bad" language on occasion, but I don't expect him to ever kill. These fundy priorities just crack me up. Like when my fundy sis let her young kids watch The Klumps, but wouldn't let them read Captain Underpants. Wha?
