4. He and Stewart are the best
I love them both. I love how Colbert is so mocking O'Reilly but he does a better job at it! Hehehe!

5. Yes, however the set should be brighter.
Way too dark, and too much like the Daily Show's. He talks non-stop which I personally can't handle from anyone any length of time. But, he's terrific that's for sure. Seriously, I had to ask a roomate to leave because she would never stop talking. Yak, yak, yak, yak all the time. Silence is golden sometimes.

21. I Agree - Best Two Shows on TV
The Word segment is so clever, the religious stuff is great. Best in shows.

2. I am not surprised.
His show is turning into a really fun and well done show. I know we love it here.

Good for him.

6. I love him....
I thought the first couple of shows were a little shaky, but he found his rythym quickly and he is rocking the house at CC.
I think he's also a "factor" in sending o'reilly over the edge as of late.

7. cool
I know I've been staying up past bedtime to watch. I can't fathom how they're able do that quality of comedy for a half hour each night. So smart and hilarious, but then again, current events being what they are, they have a lot of material to work with.

It's a parody of an O'Reilly type show, but last night Mr. Batgirl observed that the presentation isn't very far removed reality. The flag graphics, swooping eagle, music and special effects could almost be straight from Faux. They only had to kick it up the merest notch because the reality is already so absurd.

8. I like this quote:
"The Colbert Report is a cold beer chaser to the shot of whiskey that is the Daily Show!"

Saw that on a Colbert Report add, but I think it sums up the pairing quite eloquently:D

10. Not surprising
Wasn't the Showbiz Show after TDS before the Report went on the air? David Spade is just not funny.

17. Showbiz
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 03:32 PM by artv28
The ratings are an average for the full hour. If I break it down by 30 minute intervals the first 1/2 hour is higher but now there is much less of a drop off in the 2nd 1/2 hour. Most people would change the channel or go to sleep after Stewart.

18. I like Spade already but
this new show is so boring. You can tell it's so scripted and he admitted on the show he didn't do any of it: he just reads it. How boring. At least on the "Daily Show" and "Colbert Report" they're involved with the writing (I think Stephen is on his show isn't he?).

12. MSNBC could just show slow motion video of a butterfly
and get better ratings than that.

I was recently reminded of just how much I despise Fucker Carlson when I watched the Wellstone documentary.

I'd like to get ultra-violent on his ass...

20. I wonder if Cartoon Network ratings dropped in relation?
I was forced to stop watching the Family Guy/Futurama block when Colbert started. I'm sure others have as well.
