good rant about Maureen O'Dowd on Letterman
Talk about letting flattery go to your head. I guess this hag took all the talk about her "hotness" to heart, but she had no business wearing that sleeveless get up last night. All I could see was wringly arm skin boiler-but that is not the same as being a hotty. I turned over to Leno and alanis morresette looked super hot by comparison.

Oh, and calling your book "Are men necessary?" would be really clever, witty and ironic. In 1974. Now its just old, annoying and jumping on a band wagon of titles like All men are liars, boys are stupid etc etc etc etc ad nauseum.

O'Dowd explained the title by saying men are no longer necessary for reproduction. Really? Did I miss something? How many people are the product of two eggs fertilizing each other?

They can trick and egg into dividing without being fertilized by a sperm. Its only in the lab. Eventually they'll be able to carry a fetus to term without a women tho I doubt any man will have the license to write a book titled: "Are women necessary"

And your points about her "hotness" are true. I don't think any women her age should be talking about how hot she is. Especially a woman who went thru a Diane Keaton phase of wearing Menswear. Decidedly not hot.

You know what's hot Maureen? Modesty.

8. Did you even watch the show?
She looked fine. Are you afraid of the aging process? It's her bad luck she happened to go on right after Charlize Theron, who is much younger, but she did manage to get in some substantive conversation, unlike Theron who talked about doing gymnastics for a movie and the upcoming Oprah appearance on Letterman. Maybe your post should be titled "Are Women Necessary (After Forty)?" because you clearly don't think so!

25. Men's clothes don't give you as much an impression of what's beneath...
clothing as women's clothes do.

In fact, men's clothes are designed to hide stuff. Women's clothes are generally much more revealing. If you don't wear revealing stuff, people think you're a lesbian.

I think men would turn three shades of red if they ever caught wind of the conversations women hold whilst discussing men's bodies.

Don't think for a minute we don't check out pecs, backsides and, yes, the package.

Jeans and sweats, my dear, DO NOT "hide" mens' bodies.

50. People feel they have a right to observe women's bodies...
in public settings. If women don't wear revealing clothing they're called "uptight" or are accused of being lesbians.

Compare what men wear to the academy awards compared to women. Compare what the average waitress wears compared to the average waiter. Compare what the women who compete in 'beach vollyball' wear compared to what the men wear. Women are expected to show it off and be decorative. Men aren't. Men can go their whole lives wearing boxy suits and baggy pants and it's okay.

34. Actually, scientists can take two eggs and make a baby using a chemical
to dissolve (I think) the outer membrane. I don't know the name of the procedure, but experimentation goes back to the late 1970s and the procedure can now be done but apparently it is quite expensive.

This of course has nothing to do with Maureen Dowd...

So what if she is called a hottie?

Resent women in the public arena for being smart and for being called attractive by others?

Her arms were not like Alanis Morrissette? really.
so what?

Maureen has written about shrub and judiththeneoconhag and told the truth.

Sad, women are still judged by a bullshit double standard of, that men never are...often by other women.
