Rep Murtha needs to hold Teach-Ins on Redeployment
The Bush speech merely stresses the need to have Democrats hold the information hearings in the wide open press/world media that will allow for the unsustainability of current policy in Iraq to be exposed. Murtha's intimation that Bush is destroying our own military in an occupation that, inevitably and by definition, has to end in order for Iraqis to have self-determination, needs to be explored IN DEPTH.

This is complicated stuff. Is our media capable of it without soundbites and BS spin ?

Stay tuned.

1. Murtha's plan is cut and run...the liberal media sez so.

2. Mere 'word-play', my dear blm, by any other name....
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other word would smell as
sweet." --From Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Withdrawal morphs into the more palatable redeployment and, voila !
It ain't cut and run no more. It's commonsense. Now, for the tough question: how long are we going to stay in Iraq ?

Sen McCain has said '10, 20 years'

""When asked this week on CNN how long the U.S. military is likely to remain in Iraq, Senator John McCain replied "probably" 10 or 20 years. "That's not so bad," he said""

More like heads up their arse, but you get the picture. Without a draft, ten or twenty years is irrelevent...the R's have painted themselves into a corner.

3. Methinks McCain cooked his own goose with that one.
And I'm glad for that.

4. Hopefully all R's in lock-step with "stay the course"

...the lemming-like behavior of the R's is even worse on the economy.

BTW, here's an old bookmark I kept on why a draft will be needed in a year if nothing changes
