You know the ones I mean. * and every *bot stand in front of them for speeches and forums and hope that those words are the ones people take away and believe over what they hear elsewhere. It aggravates me to no end to see Dems do this as well now. First, it is so fricking manipulative and dishonest. Second, it keeps people from hearing what you are saying. I would strongly encourage Dems to drop this sad little imitation of R public relations and force people to listen to what they say rather than relying on backdrops, the visual version of sound bytes.

1. I only want to see one more backdrop.
When the next Democrat gets elected as President I hope he/she will stand in front of a backdrop that says "No more stupid backdrops".

2. A well done Powerpoint presentation
(with the emphasis on "well done") can have a lot of value because it has the information you need well summarized. If the notes are provided that's even better.

But I've said for years that, in a work environment, a fancy-whizz-bang flashy Powerpoint presentation means someone has entirely too much time on their hands.

3. The Colbert Report does a wicked send up of this
and all powerpoint presentations with the "The Word" segment. Having the punchline in the "points" is a lovely dig.

5. Me, me , me!!!!
I can't believe they help, either. They're so obvious and cheesy. Of course, when you have no skills in governing, all you've got to fall back on is PR (aka BS).
