Alito worth $1.72 million Exxon stock is court nominee's biggest holding
By Rex Nutting, MarketWatch - Last Update: 3:04 PM ET Nov. 30, 2005

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito holds about $850,000 in financial securities, with a net worth of about $1.72 million, according to documents filed with the Senate Judiciary Committee released Wednesday.

His previous financial disclosures had provided much less detail about the value of his holdings, putting his financial holdings in a range between $615,000 and $1.6 million.

Alito listed a personal residence worth $869,550 and Series EE bonds worth $60,000.

Exxon Mobil (XOM: XOM58.03, -0.31, -0.5%) shares represent the largest single holding, worth $161,000. Alito inherited the shares from an unnamed family friend in 2004.
