I explain his recent hardcore right-wingitude as the result of Alzheimer's and/or just good 'ol senile dementia, the same reasons why his books have sucked HUGHLY!!11 for the last 20 years.

But when RB was a younger man, he quite frankly rocked. "Martian Chronicles", "R is for Rocket", "S is for Space", "Fahrenheit 451", "Something Wicked This Way Comes"--all present liberal/progressive ideals in some fashion, and all are terrific. That guy was untouchable back in the day.

Remember, Orson Welles started his career with "War of the Worlds" and "Citizen Kane", but by the time he died he was narrating "documentaries" about UFOs and Bigfoot and goofing up card tricks as a guest host on The Mike Douglas Show. It can happen to the best of us. It happened to Ray Bradbury.

Hey, RWers say lots of stuff I generally agree with too. That's because they are so vague, you know? They appeal to our superficial natural tendencies. Once you start figuring out how hollow it is then you start thinking "WTF was I on when I agreed with that guy", lol. I mean who wants to pay more taxes? Who wants our country to be regarded as weak? Who wants people living off of welfare? Who wants to be constrained by government? Nobody does. But it's all put into a hollow argument without merit. Once we start figuring things out then we get over that superficial spin and move onto other ideas. Happens to a lot of us.
