U.S. Due For Cheesehead President

Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold says the time has come for a "cheesehead" in the White House, but he doesn't know if he's the one to take that mantle.

Senator Feingold put his chances of seeking the nomination in 2008 at "probably higher" than one in 100 while saying it was too early to commit to the race. He told A-B-C's "This Week" that the country is overdue for a cheesehead president because there never has been one.

Feingold is mentioned as a possible candidate because of his anti-war views. He voted October 2002 against a resolution authorizing the president to use force in Iraq and was the first senator to call for a timetable to withdraw U-S troops from Iraq.

It's much to early, from where I'm sittin', to be in firm support of any one possible candidate but I'm a cheesehead myself and I hope Feingold continues to grow in popularity. My sense he wants to run and I'm thinking the odds are good that he will.

but i don't think he has a chance to be nominated. why? because he's jewish. the american electorate would sooner vote for any other ethnic, gender, race, or religious group.

BTW, i am jewish and would vote for russ in a nanosecond.
