Blitzer - CNN - Fantastic view of the Iraq invasion by marine officer
and a writer. Makes it look like a botched mess. They said right after the invasion Baghdad was in perfect condition. Then we spent the next 3 months destroying it.

1. Talking about the bar dropping on killing civilians. Enough here for
a war crimes trial. This is really sad what has gone here. The marine fellow said protestors don't bother him. As long as they care for the soldiers fighting. The ones that bother him are the ones that don't care one way or the other and just keep going on with their lives not caring.

2. Yes, I think about this every time I hear the propaganda about....
building schools and hospitals. We blew them up! We destroyed the sanitation and water supplies and electrical grid--noe of which was necessary. It was a setup for Republican profiteering and now they don't even bother with shoddy substandard work, they just take the profits and run.

3. Leslie looked and sounded just a hair nonplussed
It was one of the best segments I've seen on CNN Lame Edition in a very long time.

4. Baghdad took a real pounding during "shock & awe", so the city...
...was pretty far from being in "perfect condition" when the U. S. occupied the city.

What the initial bombing campaign didn't destroy, military operations since that time have pretty much chewed up the rest of the city and surrounding countryside.
