Excellent arguments against Intelligent Design
This web page posts the I.D. argument and then responds. There are some beautiful examples of reason on the page:

Here's another excellent source:

www.talkorigins.org

The NetNews group talk.origins has been fighting the battle against organized stupidity for years. This site has a huge collection of papers and essays on topics related to the creationist threat to science. Almost every imaginable creationist argument is answered in depth.

7. It's one thing in my opinion
to have a personal faith but it's another thing to go and inforce it everywhere. Even though I'm a Christian doesn't mean I can ignore science. I'm with Jimmy Carter where this is concerned. If science overwhelmingly proves something right than that should be accepted. I shouldn't remain ignorant just because I'm a Christian. Since I personally believe in God I believe I'm studying what He did. Not everyone believes in God and I wish people would learn that and let things be.

4. ID is not reproducible. Evolution is
That means evolution is sound science. ID is not.

8. Exactly
Evolution shows you the how etc. ID is based on a belief system. You have to believe in a Creator to believe in ID.

5. Fascinating reading. Thanks for posting
I've always seen the I.D. crowd as humans crippled by their own incuriosity and hubris. Incuriosity because they seem to assume there is no point in continued testing and honing of the evolution theory; as one responder noted, they just throw up their hands and say, "Must have been God -- oops, an Intelligent Designer. We sure can't figure this out." Hubris because they're assuming to know the mind of an Intelligent Designer, if one exists. "God wouldn't use natural selection or any of these other processes that have been discovered, I just know it." They're like the difference between two cavemen who might see a camera take a picture for the first time -- the I.D. ancestor would assume the camera wielder was an agent of some god, and the scientific ancestor would want to know how it works. I can only hope natural selection will continue to work in humanity's favor on this one.

Favorite quote from the essays:

One may, of course, retain religious faith in a designer who transcends natural processes, but there is no way to dust for his fingerprints.

Last thought: everyone knows it's the FSM behind everything.:D

9. Exactly
And to me they're really belittling God as well in my opinion. With God
I believe all things are possible. God blessed me with a freethinking mind and freewill to explore all that this world has to offer me.

10. More importantly to the GOP
they are humans crippled by their own incuriosity and hubris who are registered to vote and who are motivated to vote. That is the sole purpose to the GOP of the ID issue, the abortion issue, gay marriage, etc. It gets their base out to vote. Same reason they've hijacked NASCAR and are attempting to hijack country music. Not coincidentally, all the above are very predominantly white people.
