SEOUL, Nov 26 (Reuters) - North Korea on Saturday called a recent CNN programme depicting a public execution in the communist state a "sheer fabrication" and dismissed it as a ratings ploy by the U.S.-based broadcaster. snip

As in the CNN programme, those images were captured from a distance and included no independent first-person accounts of what was taking place, making it difficult to discern the circumstances or the location of the actions.

"CNN is losing popularity as the days go by although it had high audience rating in the world in the past," KCNA said. Much upset by this, CNN staged such poor farce to improve its image."

In the process, the U.S. broadcaster has been "reduced to a trumpeter and a political waiting maid for the U.S. administration," it said.

Nah, CNN would never fabricate stuff.

That person was shot dead.

If you have seen the pictures from the end of ww2 and some of the executions by firing squad you can tell.

Seeing bullets pass through and strike a berm is pretty obvious.

Like the taliban execution of that poor waman. Pretty rough to watch

Considering his past recorded history declaring war on the west to a neutral source. I pretty much believed him.

Nothing is absolute, but looking at the run up to 9/11 and attacks afterwords it does fit their style.

Fabricated or not, it felt like a classic Corporate Media Change-the-Subject piece.

I would suggest that people not believe everything they see and hear on CNN. And I'd suggest that people not believe anything that the North korean government reports.

Let people see what they want--people put to death. Maybe minds would change about the death penalty if they were made to see it.
