5. Back in high school my friends and I used to get together

and buy each other a sheep or something for our birthdays.

We always wanted to buy a water buffalo, but it was a bit expensive for us.

Excellent organization, well run, and they do amazing things.

They don't give handouts to keep people dependant on American charity, they teach people how to be self-sufficient, so they never have to ask for charity again.

8. Every Christmas I donate rabbits, chicks, ducks, etc. in memory

of people that have passed. Guaranteed to make their survivors cry and say what a wonderful gift. I "gave" my mother a water buffalo
for Mother's Day, and at first she was dumbfounded, but then said it was a great gift after she read what Heifer does for people. I love Heifer.
