MEDIA BITCHES workin' hard for pimp daddy WAL-MART this weekend
Edited on Fri Nov-25-05 12:48 PM by Vinnie From Indy
Wal-Mart is masterfully using the same media game plan as BushCo. this Thanksgiving weekend to drive the poor, ignorant masses into their stores. The basic message being repeated over and over on almost every news outlet is that people are "fighting" to get the "incredible" deals at Wal-Mart. The specific story doesn't matter, it just needs to contain the common element of people committing violence to get GREAT deals. . It can be an old women trampled at a Florida Wal-Mart for a $50. DVD player or fist fights breaking out in Maryland over $400. plasma TV or a group of orphans in a toy aisle mowed down with shopping carts by crazed parents in Kentucky. It is an awesome thing to witness the almost total participation by all forms of media in reporting on the real or created incidents of violence spawned by supposedly low prices. It seems that the art of psyops isn't just for selling wars anymore.

2. I noticed that after the "great deal" story
they usually have some spokesperson on telling us what the "hot gifts" are this year. The last one I saw was the CEO of Toys-R-Us hawking the popular kids toys this year, saying "Every girl HAS to have the 'Bratz' dolls this year".

THAT IS NOT NEWS DAMMIT! It shouldn't be legal IMO.

3. ya know, after you get to a certain age, you realize that . . .
stuff doesn't matter . . . you even begin looking around at all the stuff you've accumulated over the years, and you start to devise ways to get rid of the 90% that you never use . . . and the temptations of "great deals" become laughable, since no matter how great the deal, all it will result in is more stuff that you really don't want or need . . .

13. Left 95% of the stuff behind with my wife
and I'm loving the breathing room. Don't even have a TV, and I don't miss it one bit.

Edited on Fri Nov-25-05 12:50 PM by madrchsod
in must big box stores. that low price is a con job by walmart and now the media. if one checks the prices against other stores walmart may be a few dollars cheaper but usually it amounts to pennies

7. Bingo.
And the stuff that is the lowest price is generally far lower quality.

Still, Verbatim's DVD+R DL discs, 3-pack for $11 normal price, is still pretty good... I've archived my lasrerdisc collection onto those.

9. It don't work that way for me
We talked about this at dinner yesterday. Our entire family, even dumshit faux viewer son in law, agreed that these kinds of ads would just make us say fuck it, I'm not going anywhere near that place. Of course I've been in wally world once in the past five years, to buy cat food.

They had a media whore dressed like a pimp whoring at the Ontario Mills Mall its the biggest shopping season of the year and that is what they do before wal-mart it was target, mervins and best buy.

It seems that the art of psyops isn't just for selling wars anymore.

12. I call it advertising when it is paid for and psyops when it is free
This is the same technique used during the "swift boating" of John Kerry. Create a story, spoon feed it to the media and reap millions and millions of dollars of free advertising masquerading as news.

14. corporate media propaganda...here's something that might help
http://www.iwtnews.com/join

This was from another thread and it was too late for me to recommend.
Amy Goodman and Jeanine Garafolo are advisers to Independent World News that wants to start up by 2007.

It may have a good chance, as it's starting in Canada and the US power elites may not be able to snuff it out.
