FULL COURT PRESS . . . . .ALL OUT ASSAULT
Edited on Fri Nov-25-05 11:17 AM by annabanana
Everywhere, all morning, they repeat "The troops have high moral, think dissent is the fault of the media only showing the 'bad stuff', dissent is disloyal, all the soldiers want to stay until the 'mission' is done... they want all Americans 'behind them on their mission'..

We are now seeing the all out assault PR effort that we were warned was coming.
How long will it take for corrective (i,e, ACCURATE) accounts to surface (below the fold, on page 23)..?

2. They also went overboard yesterday
telling us what was being served to the first family for Thanksgiving dinner.

It must be a slow news week.

11. That's typical. We always have gotten the menu and what
they're wearing on slow, slow news days.

3. It's not working anymore
This is the first war brought to family and friends of the troops with instant messaging and cell phones. Gone are the days of the brave letters, written weeks in advance of their receipt. Even though most troops try to put the best face on it for, say, their mothers, they tell the truth to their friends and their sibling. At least that's what I'm hearing from the families and friends of the people that I know who are over there. And I'm not hearing anything about high morale.

4. And if our gullible populace no longer believes it, you know the situation
is bad beyond belief.

6. How could they possibly have high morale?

They are being used as cannon fodder for a lie-based war.

5. I noticed that, too. They've been in heavy protect the Bushboy mode.
I think Bill Clinton helped with his don't withdraw from Iraq statement that media uses to cover for the Bushboy.

7. Did Bill Clinton say that?

Sometimes I wish Bill Clinton would just go away - and take Hillary with him.

9. Amen.
I've never been a great Clinton fan. I respect their intelligence and Bill's political instincts, but they were never liberals. Maybe, due to the times, they couldn't be. I don't know. But NAFTA, the bungled health care plan, and welfare "reform" (borrowed from Wisconsin's homegrown Little Caesar, Tommy the Turd) soured me on the Klintoons. I'm just afraid they're gonna ram Hillary down our throats in 2008. Sorta like they did Bill in '92.

8. Where are the brave soldiers willing to stand up to this nonsense?
They are gagged. Threatened with courts martial.

That is why you won't here from them, (until they get out).

Gen Janis Karpinski
Capt. James Yee

Care to add to the list??

10. I haven't watched too much for the past 2 days, but what I saw
was, at best, tepid support for the war by the troops that were interviewed. Some outright said that they though it was time to go home. Any that said they thought they should stay said that it was because they wanted to be with their fellow soldiers. I don't remember hearing anyone give a "political" answer - they just said that what happens is up to the ones in charge.

12. I talked to a soldier last night
that said those things almost to the letter. now I've known this guy for quite some time and he's not given to bullshit or saying what people tell him to. the overwhelming sense I got is that he believes in the mission there and believes we should stay and win. not really making a judgement on that just passing it along for what it's worth. he's also putting in to go back voluntarily. i'm baffled.
