Just like it's the "Support pres. booosh" rather than Repugnicans. Nice little loophole to allow the astroturfers and freepers to slip in on other lines.

Someone got me wise to this C-SPAN gimmick recently. If a Repugnican calls up and says "well I don't support booosh" they then get shoved on an Independent or Democrat line and this way they can load up the phones without it looking like "rules have been violated".

Most Americans, including me, never heard of Murtha until he shocked Congress and the nation by calling for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq.

It isn’t just what he said that had such an impact, but who he is. Murtha is no peacenik. Just the opposite. A Vietnam vet, he served 37 years in the Marines, winning a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. As ranking Democrat on Defense Appropriations, he’s one of the Pentagon’s best friends in Congress. And he’s a hawk. He supported Bush’s war in Iraq from the get-go and opposed, until just last week, any calls to bring American troops home too soon.

29. The bigger problem for Dems is that many didn't KNOW who Murtha was

when he made his statement for the most part, including Press. That's unbelievably uninformed in my book and a big reason left pundits get hammered when matched with RW ones who willlie more forcefully than a Dem can remember simple facts and truth.

Murtha was one of Kerry's point men on Iraq during the campaign. He was always gathering info for him, and they both submitted withdrawal plans in the last month based on their shared information on Iraq.

How did Press not know him?

Uninformed lefties still have no idea that Kerry submitted a withdrawal plan in October and then submitted it as a Senate bill on Nov.10.

Press, Arianna, Colgan, and even Helen Thomas all apparently missed every withdrawal plan offered EXCEPT Murtha's. THIS is why so much disinformation gets out to the public - WEAK reporting and WEAKER punditry.
