Am I the only one who really hates the new word "Blogosphere"?

If I hear it being uttered once more by a TV anchorman I think I'll explode. CNN seems particularly fond of it.

If they said "blogs" instead of "blogosphere," would you prefer that?

2. I don't know, just a pet peeve I guess...

It sounds too much to me like one of those slick words media spin doctors love to grab hold of and beat people to death with. Like how everyone was using the term "ground zero" after 9-11.

who are vapid and irritating and will spew any new term as if they've been saying it their whole life.

5. Insist on new words for other media

maybe if we start using words like 'pulpisphere', 'videosphere', 'radiosphere', and the 'independent republic of bill-boardistan', maybe people will see how silly a term 'blogoshpere' is.

10. I always thought it was a pretty good word

but I know what you mean about certain words or, I'll add, combinations of words, driving you nuts.

Mine is "he graduated high school" instead of "he graduated FROM high school." And everybody says it now. Drives me nuts.
