Yes, thier leadership is twisted and insane but I believe that the real Republicans, Republicans like Eisenhower and Lincoln, real Republicans were so cowed by 9/11 that they just rolled over and played dead. They wanted to win and were left to defeating the only enemy they could get their hands around, us Democrats. All that insane fear should be direct at the real perpetrators of 9/11 but instead it's now aimed at a entire race of people and those who don't want them murdered. That's why I believe that finding out the truth about 9/11 is the most important thing we can do to set this country right. But if you want to know the real reason they're nuts is simply because they're afraid.

1) The cynical, hyper-wealthy, who believe in profit above all else;
2) Ill-informed bullies who are eager to respond to a "strict daddy," and who believe that killing anything that stands in opposition is the way to go;
2) The fearful, hyper-religious souls who believe that the GOP actually wants to further their agenda of no gays, no abortions, no public schooling, no evolution, etc.

In the end, only #1 above wins. GM is laying off thousands of workers, but the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed today at 10,871.43 -- another day of gains for the wealthy.
