more and more, the republicans see US as the terrorists
you hear it all the time on cspan, etc., 'when liberals bad mouth the president and his war, they harm the troops', bla bla bla.

but more and more they are seeing us as the enemy and see us as supporters of terrorism, so more and more it is the liberals that are seen as the enemies of america.

this is a bad trend that will end in great ugliness.

1. Fuck 'em.
I don't give two shits what they think about my "patriotism". To remain silent while tyrants dismantle our country is un-American. This administration has so polarized our country that I'm not sure if it can ever be pulled together again.

2. Ditto
These Pukes are not Americans..
They do not uphold American values
nor the principles set forth in our constitution.
They trample the rights of those that
don't think as they do, look like they do
and worship in the same church as they do.
The vile hate that spews from their lips
would even make Jesus cry in shame.

Yeah.... fuck em.

8. I'll have to go with...
Fuck 'em too, but with someone else's tool besides mine!

It would be about my luck to draw Ann's name, so I'll pass on the porking part!

As far as ugly, they have a lock on ugly.

As far as them kicking my ass..."BRING IT ON!"

I plan on beating the mortal hell out of them, while they are in the process of kicking my ass!

Besides when it comes to kicking ass, they ALL always want a deferment.

When it comes to kissing Ass, they are always at the front of the pack.

3. it is already ugly
and getting worse - now that the "holiday" season is upon us - how many others are dreading the family get togethers that usually involve political "discussions" with those we don't agree with? I have distanced myself from so many people because they continue to support the war and * , I will be spending Thanksgiving home alone in front of the fire watching football - at least I will have some peace and quiet

9. Same here.......
I've told everyone that I want to spend a nice, quiet Thanksgiving at home with none of the hustle, bustle and inevitable political arguments. My blood pressure can't handle that crap anymore.

17. I'm going to TX
where I'll listen to my yellow dog Democrat in-laws talk about how Bush is not a Texan but a Yankee carpetbagger (they're sixth generation Texans, and they take this seriously). Or I'll talk with my neice who works for Planned Parenthood. No freeper types in my family, thank goodness!

5. Yesterday Limbaugh said something to the effect of
"both the terrorists and the liberals want us to lose this war".

And he compared the left to the terrorists (who are, interestingly enough, right-wing religious fundimentalist extremists) repeatedly.

13. Limbaugh is just protecting his empire......
if people ever wake up and start thinking for themselves he's screwed. He has to keep the two sides at each other throats, it's money in the bank for him. Greedy, drug addled, porcine asshole!

11. It's a curious phenomenon, isn't it?
We somehow represent a bigger threat to them than the dreaded "evildoers".

It must be because we challenge their little dream world of illusion.

They are the enemy, they hate America, they are trying to ruin America, and I can guarantee you that I am better prepared than they are to push the issue much farther.

15. Yes, America is alot darker now.
When can anyone remember democrats being kicked out of churches in America? We are the new red scare of America. It carries with it a certain peril when civil liberties have been sacrificed on the altar of propaganda and fear.

16. Sort of like the Pilgrims and the Native Americans
in 1621, the Wampanoags were heros. They showed the Pilgrims how to plant corn, and basically how to keep from starving. Then they were great. But when more and more Europeans came over, they started taking the Native lands, justifying it in the name of "Christianity" and an early form of "manifest destiny". The former friends were seen as enemies and were hunted down and slaughtered.

Hope this scenario isn't played out again. Why can't people just appreciate differences and try to get along?

19. The more they spout that crap the more their poll numbers drop. Americans
who have any intelligence and education are buying it less and less and the inclination toward the "rally around the president during war" mentality is waning.

From what I'm hearing in this red part of NY is that the RW idiots spewing this crap are looking more and more like the childish bullies and thugs that they are. The old style Republicans up here mostly now seem see them as bizarre extremists and not real Republicans.

to the list of inflammatory epithets, replacing communist, etc. The demonization of liberals and liberalism has been a slow moving crusade, it reached critical mass at the end of the Clinton administration and was the impetus for wedging this twisted administration into office. Make no mistake, if they had been slightly adept at foreign policy or even competent at governance, the dreams of Leo Strauss and his followers would be allot closer to realization. In a sick sad way, this country is actually lucky that they are so incompetent and insane. What if no one had noticed and they had succeeded? But you are right, they've wanted this for a long time and they are pissed, probably will be for a long time too.

24. Viet Nam redux. History repeats.
As the war got mired down, and the administration was looking more and more corrupt, the anti-war movement and "hippies" got more and more demonized. Instead of terrorists, we were "Commies".

Same shit, different decade.

Except now, they have more media spewing hate propaganda than then. I fear Mo is right, it will end in great ugliness.

But I think in the end, we will be vindicated and the cons shoved back to the status of "the vocal minority".
