Religion/Politics/Philosophy - any difference between the 3 really?
Each is a belief system. All rely on the writings of many people, and some (or all) on self discovery.

All rely on frame of reference and ideals based on personal 'beliefs' - though some are more structured in various ways. They all have ways of identifying members (from christianity to liberals, all have a set of beliefs which become a litmus test).

In religion we often have books people refer to (not always though). In politics we often have a codified set of ideals, similar to how one decides which philosophy one follows.

Even if we say religion often has people who rely on someone else (god, buddah, et al) to define things in the moral context, is that not any more different than people who choose a political/philosophical way based on the writings of others which they have deemed acceptable through their own investigations/ideas (ie, some becomes buddhist/christian/et al because they align their own beliefs with those of some of other group and choose to identify themselves as such and accept the tenets of said faith freely)?

At any rate, value your input.

1. Hitherto, philosophers have interpreted the world.
Our task is to change it.

2. no difference
Which is why I am astonished when others say they can enjoy being with republican family and friends. They just "don't talk politics".
WTF? They are enablers and conspirators, just as the good Germans in 1939. Death camps down the road you say? Oh, let's not discuss THAT, here have some more turkey. SICK.

If someones political ideology endorses, promotes and celebrates war, the slaughter of innocents, death, torture, imolating children with flaming jellied petroleum, lying, and greed, then what would be their philosophical beliefs?
Sorry, but I won't share a civil meal with any repub, lest they get a candied sweet potato shoved up their nose and a turkey stuffed with Article 4 of the Geneva Convention.

3. Difference - Politics is putting philosophy and religion into policy.
