How many veterans have the Republicans slimed this year
I was wondering if anyone has a list of veterans that the gop keeps sliming? This is inspired by the Jean Schmidt busted for lying thread. And they have nerve to call us unpatriotic.

1. Any vet that gets in their way is 'fair game'.

3. As many as they did in 2000? And in 2004?
Just guessing.

4. Is it wrong to smear a vet?
bush 1 was a vet, and I have no problem smearing his lying ass :)

Overall though - let me say thanks to all those who served their country without being elected to do so. I have more respect for such people than any congress person or president.

6. I'm going to go out on a limb with an assumption about your integrity.
You're probably not the kind of person who would smear GHWB for his WWII record. You'd, as you said, go after him on his deception later in life.

8. Indeed
I was referring to smearing someone in general on their record who happened to be a vet, not because they were one.

7. They smear their *service* even.
Max Cleland supposedly had a "lucky" accident that could have happened anywhere. (Like there are grenades lying around in the suburbs.)

John McCain, and I'm no fan, supposedly was made crazy by being a POW and now can't be trusted.

John Kerry supposedly faked his wounds, faked reports, and faked out the Navy to get his medals.

And Wesley Clark is supposedly an "opportunist, perfumed prince" who didn't earn his stars.

They've already started some Congressional inquiry on Murtha. If he goes far enough, they'll trash his service, too, along with Crowe, McPeak, doesn't matter who -- if they get far enough, that's what they resort to.

14.  Can you believe it? Max is a triple amputee and they say he's not
patriotic enough. Yet these war mongers wont serve. It's really pathetic isn't it?

15. Paul Hackett
Smeared him. Al Gore. He served IN Vietnam, but he was a reporter so it wasn't manly service.

19. Don't forget Bob "viagra®" Dole
I don't mind smearing his lying ass either. I think any wounded veteran stupid enough to stil be a Rethug deserves to be called on the Carpet.

When will they learn that only the Democrats really care about veterans?

20. Maybe a better question is how many Vets have been smeared
because of their service?

getting cuts in benefits.

11. This veteran got slimed in 2003 when Rumsfeld informed me....
that as a dumb draftee I added "no value, no advantage, really, to the United States armed services over any sustained period of time".
