Hypothetical Voting Question...
Would you vote for a democratic candidate for president even if that person had made voting decisions in the past that you disagree with? For example, could you vote for Hillary even if you can't stand her? Would you vote for Kerry again even though he pretty much turned out to be a wet noodle?

I, personally, will vote for any democratic candidate this time around simply to take the power for the white house out of the hands of the republicans. It's the only reason, btw, that I voted for Kerry this time around...I wasn't fond of him at all, but I wanted Bush out.

1. It's will be anybody but the republicans, and the one most likely to win
I won't waste a vote on a green candidate.

6. interesting...
I have to say that I would vote for McCain....and he's a republican. I guess I'm just assuming that Cheney will be the republican nominee...

7. I would vote for the least offensive choice.
I recognize that I am more liberal than the majority of americans. I may have to compromise some of my issues.

Plus there are other issues like competency. Someone may be right on the issues, but not have the ability to execute. In that situation, it would be better to take a less liberal candidate with more ability.

8. While I'm as much of a yellow-dog Democrat as anyone...
...I think we need to realize that this puts us at a strong disadvantage when it comes to having our voices heard. Democratic candidates can and will assume that, no matter how much they may turn their backs on us, we will have no alternative but to hold our nose and vote for them anyway, and so they're free to ignore us in search of the mythical DLC center. As one of them once put it, "where else are you gonna go?"

So, if progressives stick with the party no matter what, we'll be disregarded. If we break away to go third-party, or sit on our hands, we're to blame for the loss. Heads, you win -- tails, we lose. :-(
