About that Bush video from the China news conference

I looked up the link of Bush trying to make the exit through the locke door from the press conference in China. What struck me was the weird way he was talking before he left the stage. His accent was all wrong and he seemed to have novocaine in one side of his mouth. Am I seeing things, did the transfer to the Web garble the sound or what?
