so xm will have fox news talk in Janurary
"FOX News Talk - XM 168 - New Channel
Coming in January 2006
News, analysis and the pulse of the nation from Bill O'Reilly, Tony Snow, John Gibson, Alan Colmes and more. News Talk like only Fox can give you."

I have to assume that they will have full Air America Radio, and Mike Malloy's show won't be interrupted

1. The need to balance this with more progressive programming
in addition to Air America.

3. Of course I agree, but just getting the full AAR programming is a start
I used to be with Sirius, where they had to liberal streams, but after they let AAR go, the only liberal stream left was lacking at best, so I went with XM

I do NOT regret what I did

2. Doesn't Clearchannel own a big piece of XM?
That would explain it. I'm a lifetime subscriber to Sirius Satellite Radio and a Howard Stern Fan, so I don't have to worry about ever hearing FAUX NEWS on XM. But thanks for the info.

7. I am making just an assumption
Yes clearchannel has investment in XM, and there are other right wing groups that have investment in Sirius

To me liberal talk and music was more important than Stern.

Frankly, Alex Bennet and Lynn Sammuels are NOT for me

The young Turks are NOT bad, and only one hour of Thom Hartman, wasn't worth it to me

Incidently, FAUX new is on Sirius also along with Sirius right, Sirius Patriot, and ABC news and talk which is NO liberal stream

They also don't have MSNBC which has Keith Oberman, so at least for me XM is slightly better with liberal content, though they both are pathetic

6. Thought so.
Right-wing corporate corruption is like an octopus--it stretches everwhere, even into space.

8. Not true, clear channel has a small stake, just over 5% xmsr stock
Clear Channels stake has been dropping since 2001

This is a distortion which is constantly spread. I thought that was the case also, but it isn't

5. AAR is channel 167
Be careful not to turn that dial too far to the right. :)

9. I know
they also have Ed Schultz on "ASK", which is mostly right wing, but that actually is good for our cause because those are the ones who need to be convinced

That is also a feature in favor of XM, it has live Randii Rhodes and Ed Schultz

12. XM has done a good job with AAR
They responded to emails regarding carrying Randi full time and this move with FOX will move Colmes off and allow Malloy to be carried live. Pretty much a full live carry of AAR.

And my XM unit allows me to record shows and listen to them later (and skip through commercials)

I'm a former Sirius subscriber.

14. that is exactly what happened with me
I was with Sirus for two years, and would have continued if they hadn't lost AAR

Now I am with XM and have no regrets
