1. Why?
Don't you have NewsInternation or BBC on your poll.

CNN - FOX - MSNBC you gotta be kidding.

Refuse to vote.

10. I agree, BBC is the best...
Went and got XM radio for the car specifically so I could get the BBC during the commute....

15. I 2nd that!
If I had BBC or CBC, TRUST ME, I would actually get more use out of my TV! CNN (Certainly NOT News), Faux, and MFNBC can all EAT MY BUTT!

Lu Cifer, does the Internet count as a 24 hr. news channel!

3. DU!!!!
Seriously...I dropped my extended cable and don't get any news channels whatsoever, and I haven't missed a GD thing!
I do get local news, which of course sucks and "The National" on CBC which is awesome....so screw CNN et al....I'll take what I have along with DU and links provided for my news!!!!

Cheers!

11. I am going to try to reply as many posts as possible
I don't have BBC so I didn't list it as an option, sorry but I left an other option. Is Cspan really news? I mean did you get up to the minute updates of the ferry crash, or some other news dominating headline. Cspan is unbiased, but I don't consider it a news network. Plus Comedy Central is not a 24 Hour News network.

8. NewsWorld International...Soon V-TV
This is currently the CBC's News Channel with lots of International coverage. This is also the network Al Gore's working on buying.

During the Iraq invasion, this was the only place to turn for other views of what was going on...CBC, BBC, DW (Germany), CTV (China), NHK and many others. The CBC's "The National"...their nightly newshour is excellent on International and U.S. coverage.

9. What good are 24 hr. news channels if you can't get them?
Have seen CBC every once in a while on public television, and BBC 1/2 hr program is sometimes on public TV, but the rest are WORTHLESS!!

16. It's On Satellite TV and Digital Cable...Coming Soon
Right now it can reach about 20,000,000 homes and from what I've read there's negotiations to get it on cable systems across the country (primarily the East, Midwest & West) by the middle of next year.

14. I concur
If you turn to CNN you will get news. If an important bill gets passed it will be on CNN, a bus flips over it will be on CNN, a ferry crash, it will be on CNN, troops dying in Iraq, it will be on CNN.

20. Other: BBC
CNN is crap. I watched Headline News the other night hoping to see footage of the Chinese Rocket launch. They didn't even mention it, they spent all their time on crap like Clay Whatshisname and similar pop culture rubbish. It was awful. The other CNN was almost as bad. FOX "News" is a joke. ALl of the domestic corporate TV news media is pretty much crap for that matter. CNN International actually resembles a news organization, but the BBC is the best.

21. Don't you mean "which is the least worst?"
Then I would vote for CNN. But none is a good station. So I cannot vote. I would favor a more regional 24 news station. But until Gore gets his TV station I don't have one.

I'd say the BBC also but I don't get it 24hrs on my TV. I guess it would count if you wanted to include streaming stuff on the internet.

News World International beats them all!
If you want to see how the media is manipulated in the US watch CNN International ( if you can get it) and see how their news is reported to the world versus CNN in the US.

The indigenous version anyhow. Not sure about what you folks get down there.

It isn't just news news news ("news"), over and over and over, and empty chatter and manufactured/hyped stories gobbling up your time. It's investigative journalism, documentaries, interviews (real interviews by real interviewers, not someone being shouted down by someone else, and not "commentary" by manufactured experts), and panel/audience discussions (real discussions ...).

And the real Antiques Roadshow.

;)

(oops, left out a "not")

.
