House Vote on Syria Accountability & Lebanese Sovereignty Restoration Act
Edited on Wed Oct-15-03 08:02 PM by goobergunch
H.R. 1828, to halt Syrian support for terrorism, end its occupation of Lebanon, stop its development of weapons of mass destruction, cease its illegal importation of Iraqi oil and illegal shipments of weapons and other military items to Iraq, and by so doing hold Syria accountable for the serious international security problems it has caused in the Middle East, and for other purposes.

Yeas 398
Nays 4 (Abercrombie, Flake, Paul, Rahall)

1. Replace the word "Syria"
with the name of another country, like, say, the US. Then replace the word "Lebanon" with "Iraq", & that's something I'd vote for.:-(

"illegal importation of Iraqi oil and illegal shipments of weapons and other military items to Iraq, and by so doing hold Syria accountable for the serious international security problems it has caused in the Middle East, and for other purposes. "
Now Did Iraq Hide weapons in Syria or is Syria Hidding weapons in Iraq? Is Syria Breaking international Law and will or is the U.S. and Isreal? Not counting U.N resolutions.

4. shite!
If we pick a fight with Syria this could go VERY differently than Iraq did. Their army is geared up to fight Israel, and we all know how good their armed forces are! That and our troops are spread too thin as it is.
