Here's the counterpoint. How many "other DUers" are Urban Middle to Upscale in income and yet weren't "entitled" to get where you are today?

Are Dems only the party of the "disenfranchised, union, minority, welfare, low income?

What about those of us who "bootstrapped?" What about those of us whose parents sacrificed to get education and pushed us along and we did Okay? Maybe we made money during the Clinton years after being deprived through the Nixon/Carter years. Maybe we were Reagan Dems because we were so tired of working so hard with college loans (Thank GOD..whatever..FOR Lyndon's College Loan Program) and to come out in the midst of the Viet Nam War and then indure Nixon's WAGE /PRICE Freeze and find we couldn't afford any kind of house, but must stay in apartments forever. Then came Carter....OUR Great Hope! And, we had "Energy Crisis" where we had to all turn of lights and worry about where we drove and what kind of car gave us great gas mileage for the buck. And Banks would only give 1 and 1/2 your income to buy a house and none of us had the downpayment needed without asking parents to loan us....Now you can buy a house with a Credit Card and very little downpayment as long as you "qualify." Don't ask what we had to do to "Qualify." Young DU'ers would pull their hair out Bald!

So many of us got "crushed" by the Repugs and the aftermath of the Repugs (where they "did in" Carter...or he "did in " himself) and then during Clinton we got back some stuff, but then we are nearing retirement, and it might not be there for us...but Boomers will be taken care of......YOUNG Boomers....but not US!
