More on the House Chaos
From a "Hill Democrat" (according to TNR's blogger, Michael Crowley):

"The defeat was embarassing in more than one respect. First, they lost. Second, they looked hapless while losing. Rather than stopping the bleeding, they held the vote open for a long time, but had a twenty vote deficit. Very few of those votes were budging. To make the effort to hold the vote open and then to lose looks exceptionally weak."

3. Moderate repukes
are waking up, unfortunately 3 years too late

they see which way the wind is blowing and want to jump on the bandwagon to save their skins in 06

they went along with everything the boy king wanted and now they are afraid of losing their cushy jobs, they are such opportunists....

oh well, I guess better late than never- just make sure they do not get reelected - they should never be rewarded for their turning their backs on this country

4. Wow. What a man-date. Po-tee-ta-kul Ka-puh-till.
Chipping off Rove, Cheney, Ashcroft, Delay and Frist really left the house without a foundation.

Guess the threats aren't working like they used to. Shucks.

5. It seems the 'carrot' of offering pResidential support isn't appetizing.
The budget bills are already packed with pork. Campaign funders are already pretty much identified. What can the GOP Whips promise? A campaign appearance by C-czar Disgustsus? That sounds more like a THREAT every day.
