Rep. Kay Granger: CHICKENHAWK of the DAY - Blasts VET Murtha....

Granger, who must have experienced war first hand as a Councilwoman in Texas :eyes: , blasted Rep. Murtha's comments as "reprehensible and irresponsible."

"It shows the Democratic Party has chosen a policy of retreat and defeatism which will only encourage the terrorists and threaten the stability of Iraq."

Perhaps Ms. Granger would like to enlist, pick up bodies, go to the homes of the 10 soldiers KILLED over the last 2 days, perhaps help with their burials, support their families and children.

Perhaps Ms. Granger would like to help bury Iraqi dead, or stack the limbs from children blown to bits or help peel skin from Iraqis wounded by white phospherous attacks...

Kay Granger...ready to send OTHER people to die in her "brave" fight against "terror".

Call her office and ask when she's going to fight in Iraq:

8. Granger praised Suicide Bombings in 2003 - WENCH
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 02:23 PM by jackstraw45
From http://www.commondreams.org/scriptfiles/views03/1016-09.htm

"Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas, had just returned home from a government-sponsored tour of Iraq when she appeared on Fox News to comment on Sunday's car bombing in Baghdad. Proving she's a good listener, she insisted that the suicide attack was actually good news.

How's that? Speaking of the American nation-building effort, she explained: "As it's working, there are more incidents like this, from people who don't want it to work." By that inverted logic, of course, it would be bad news if there were fewer bombings.

But then, undercutting Granger's case, the interviewer noted that Granger and her fellow visitors had not actually stayed overnight in Iraq while they were visiting the country; each night, they were flown back to Kuwait, some 400 miles south of Baghdad. One might think for a moment about the implications of such a long-distance commute. Bush insists that America is following a "clear strategy" in Iraq, but it's about as clear as a kaleidoscope, as explanations and rationalizations rotate in an endless jumble. "

4. How many funerals of soldiers has she attended?
How many wounded soldiers has she visited? How many grieving families? Ok, she wasn't in the military, but she should at least look, face to face, at the price of this war.

5. That's not for their "kind of people".
It is for the working class, no jobs? join the military! None of these chickenshits will get anywhere near the military, but they are the first in line to trash those who have. You have no idea how much this sort of crap pisses me off!

They all need to be given a piece and a soft shell vehicle & sent on a front line mission. Just to give them a bit of perspective. Perhaps a few need to be wounded too, so they can speak authoritatively on the state of VA disability claims and medical care.

I would like you to let rep granger know that she should not be attacking rep murtha who is vietnam veteran in the manner that she did. She has not an ounce of credibility to stand on. I am angry at her for her attack and please let her know that.

Her aide just said "Her comments were taken out of context. She corrected herself on Fux News." Then she hung up on me!!

So Fux IS the official voice of the Republican Party.

Now I'm more pissed than ever!!

9. I was just reading the National Review thread
Where a Repuke said attacking a guy like this will backfire, given his military record and "non-effete" personality. I said, they'll call him a tree-hugging pansy, they don't give a shit.

it was Rod Drehe, here's the link:

Don't know how many of you caught Rep. John Murtha's very angry, very moving speech just now in which he called on the White House to institute an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. CNN didn't air the entire thing, but as I listened to it, I could feel the ground shift. Murtha, as you know, is not a Pelosi-style Chardonnay Democrat; he's a crusty retired career Marine who reminds me of the kinds of beer-slugging Democrats we used to have before the cultural left took over the party. Murtha, a conservative Dem who voted for the war, talked in detail about the sacrifices being borne by our soldiers and their families, and about his visits out to Walter Reed to look after the maimed, and how we've had enough, it's time to come home. He was hell on the president too.

If tough, non-effete guys like Murtha are willing to go this far, and can make the case in ways that Red America can relate to -- and listening to him talk was like listening to my dad, who's about the same age, and his hunting buddies -- then the president is in big trouble. I'm sure there's going to be an anti-Murtha pile-on in the conservative blogosphere, but from where I sit, conservatives would be fools not to take this man seriously.

30. more on kay...
"Just how tangled up in Tom DeLay's
House of Scandal is Kay Granger?
Kay Granger
# Kay Granger has taken $4,982 from Tom DeLay's ARMPAC. No surprise that Granger voted with Tom DeLay 97% of the time between Jan. 1 2004 and March 31 2005.

Is this the kind of government-for-hire that working families deserve?

# Kay Granger voted to weaken the ethics rules in a move that many say served only to protect Tom DeLay.

Does the integrity of the House mean so little that Kay Granger would sacrifice it to defend Tom DeLay?

# When Republicans realized it was "impossible to win the communications battle" over the gutted ethics rules, Granger flip-flopped and voted to put the old rules back into place.

So Kay Granger cares about the integrity of the House after all -- when cable news is covering it.

# When Democrats offered a solution to clean up the House by strengthening ethics rules, Kay Granger voted twice to make sure it never even came to an up or down vote.

So instead of a bipartisan effort to get government working for Americans, Kay Granger stood for cronyism and partisan politics.

# Kay Granger voted to allow DeLay to continue serving as Leader even if he is indicted.

Is Tom DeLay's behavior the kind of leadership that should be REWARDED, not punished?

# Tom DeLay has been admonished three times for his unethical behavior, yet Kay Granger gave DeLay's legal fund $5,000 to help defend him.

Isn't that the definition of cronyism?"
