What can we possibly do to force a Downing Street memo investigation ?
If there is anything we can possibly do as a team here at DU, it should be that we come up with a way we can put enough pressure on congress to force a Downing Street memo investigation.

Absolutely nothing could be of greater impact. I heard a CIA analyst named Ray who was a guest on C-Span Tuesday referring to this as the "smoking gun." He was with the CIA from 1963 to 1990. He said the evidence is right there but the media has not brought attention to it.

The hell with the media. Isn't there a way we can get massive enough numbers to contact Washington and demand this investigation? It doesn't take millions of emails, it only takes thousands and lawmakers start paying serious attention. It didn't take many to scare the republicans who were going to vote for the deficit reduction bill. They got the message quick.

Randi Rhodes claims her audience is one million people. Isn't there some cohesive way we could prepare a simple form and have her radio blast it day after day where it can be found and what to do? I can't imagine anyone wouldn't do it if the procedure was made simple enough.

This is the bullet right to the bullseye to bring this administration down. WE COULD CHANGE HISTORY. And now is the time.

Does anyone agree? How could we do this?

1. Well
over half a million Americans signed John Conyers petition to the White House about the DSM and he hand delivered it to the White House gates. If that didn't get any action, I don't think anything will.

2. Then lets get him another 500,000
and forget about the White House gates, let's deluge the congressmen and senators we want this investigation. We have to make it a topic that they simply can't ignore.

3. John Conyers
is very much involved in the DSM, it is a big topic for him. I don't know if you have ever visited his blog, but it is quite good and some intelligent posters.

5. I agree that it's time to revisit the issue
Things are much different now than they were three months ago. Many former friends of the administration are backing away..some are turning and running. Die hard supporters like Frist, DeLay, and Roberts are greatly weakened. Reid is stronger. Dems in congress, generally, are stronger.

That the invasion is going badly is recognized by more and more people every day. That the administration is involved deeply in the Plame business is patently obvious, even if there are no more indictments. No one can say the administration wasn't involved either intentionally or through incompetence.

The majority of the public now definitely believes that dishonesty is an issue with this administration...a recent development.

And the jump from Plame to DSM is a short one to make, even though the majority of the public haven't made it yet.

I think it is up to the dems in congress now...and they are pushing phase II of the WMD commission. DSM should naturally come up as part of it. But to ensure scrutiny, more signatures, letters, news reports and talk show topics would help.

6. Exactly.
And not only has the public not made the connection yet, they don't even know about it!

The time now is light years different than it was 3 months ago. This puts Bush's fingerprints right at the crime. If that MIA official testifies that he was there when it was officially put into place and pre-planned, Katie bar the door.

I just can't see them being comfortable trying to sweeep this away if all of a sudden they get an avalanche of emails.

I would suggest each person send one to both parties and state in the email that it is, so that the pukes know the democrats are aware of how many emails they got. And our guys know that the pukes got all those emails.

It seems that somehow we could organize this.
