Wouldn't you love to hear Carl Bernstein's opinion on Woodward?
During Watergate, they virtually became one being. The Ben Bradlee character in the film "All the President's Men" called them "WoodStein."

No one needs to be told that Woodward has become a media whore of the highest order.

I really wish Bernstein would speak out. (Perhaps he has and I missed it.)

4. Never read it, but if it's about their personal life, it has nothing to do
with Bernstein's journalistic integrity.

To repeat: I have no idea what is in the book.

8. He was a right royal BASTARD to his wife, a real Grade A shit
Rent the movie, it is pretty good--Nicholson plays Carl, Streep plays Nora. Friends of the former couple say much of the dialogue is damn near word-for-word.

He wasn't a kind man, to put it nicely. But I don't think Woodward is a prize, either!!!!!!!

Nixon is probably looking up from Hell, and smiling....!

6. Bernstein is defending the whore
"Watergate legend Carl Bernstein warned critics to back off their attacks on his former partner Bob Woodward following this week’s disclosures that Woodward had testified in the Valerie Plame case, and had failed to inform Washington Post editors for two years about a confidential conversation he’d had with a White House official.

“I think there is an awful lot of piling on,” Bernstein told E&P. “It’s outrageous to question Bob’s integrity as some seem to be doing. Anyone who looks at the record knows that it is the most distinguished journalistic record of our time.”

Woodward is a complete slut.

12. "outrageous to question Bob's integrity"????

Oh REALLY, Carl? And why, pray tell, is that? Especially since he went on TV and pilloried Fitzgerald, while failing to explain that he, in fact, had a dog in that race. But, gee, you being Bernstein & all, I guess you, too, are beyond criticism.

13.  "most distinguished journalistic record of our time.”
Hyperbole much?

I would take Dan Rather and Mike Wallace over Woodward any time for that distinction.

TV news reporters > newspaper reporters, in our time.

9. Absolutely, I was just thinking the same thing last night.
I saw an interview with both of them (I think that it was on Larry King Live), and Bernstein very clearly disliked the B* administration, and Woodward defended it. It seemed to me that Larry King tried to give Woodward more opportunities to talk than he gave to Bernstein, and he seemed impatient when Bernstein spoke.

10. No, I hate it. "Outrageous to question...integrity"-- sound familiar?
Woodward didn't have far to fall in my estimation, but Bernstein did--and has. Warning off critics, saying questioning is outrageous, these are the favored tools of the maladministration. What a disappointment to see Bernstein aping Cheney.
