8. Unfortunately, there's reports this morning
trying to tie Ried and a few other Democrats (Landreau and Breaux, and others) to him. He gave political contributions to them.

11. I had actually read that earlier
While i'm glad to see anyone going after government corruption, I think some here are looking at Abramoff as a magic bullet that will enable us to get repukes in congress and leave the democrats untouched.

From my own point of view, the story shouldn't be Abramoff, it should be those on both sides of the aisle who accepted the money. Unfortunately, it seems like whenever House/Senate committees investigate some sort of influence peddling (bribery/whatever you want to call it) they always seem to make sure the blame is assigned to someone other than another elected official. IMHO, if you want to end the corruption in government, you'll have a better chance if you concentrate on the quality of the couple of hundred elected people in Washington than the millions of people who try to influence them.
