Kerry vs Cheney -- Oh yeah, baby!
First Darth in his speech tonight:
It's a pleasure to see all of you. I'm sorry that we couldn't be joined by Senators Harry Reid, John Kerry, or Jay Rockefeller. They were unable to attend due to a prior lack of commitment.

Fuck you, you fucking fuck... but I digress.

Now Sen. Kerry, in part of his rebuttal to Darth's speech tonight:
My commitment to our country has been steadfast from the day I signed up to serve in the Navy through my service as a United States Senator fighting for our troops and our national security. Too often when it’s been time to tell the truth to the American people, Vice President Cheney has had other priorities.

Bahahahaha! Hey, Deferment Boy, how do you like them apples!?

30. I personally don't know what more John Kerry could do
to show his dedication to all good liberal causes. He's been fighting so hard for us for the past 35 years, and it frankly makes me furious when I see so many people here disrespect him. We could not ask for more integrity, dignity, courage, or intelligence in a senator (or a president ).

I think it's a by-product of the "instant society" that we live in.
They want what "they" want and they want it "now". Diplomatic integrity has been absent for so long, they don't recognize it when they see it anymore.

I'm with you ... John Kerry :loveya:

43. what I think when I read those sort of comments
is that those people are just projecting their own self-doubt onto their targets. The ones who complain about "no cajones" are probably pretty wimpy themselves when push comes to shove. They are outing themselves.

And I think the same when I hear * or Cheney--how so often the criticisms they launch are exactly what we think of them!

Actually, a Committee might be best. The Cajunes Verification Committee, perhaps?

Kerry made many, many statements like that during the campaign. DUers know it. Just because the corporate media didn't cover his speeches doesn't mean that he didn't make great comments like he did today.

Do a little research and think for yourself. It will get you pretty far in life.

sound bites - he is very very articulate and has a great dry sense of humor - but the words weren't broadcast.

The S&G quote is absolutely one of the most perfect description of much of the populace - but the media didn't make it easy to hear.

63. Pardon my candor
but the post they were responding to didn't indicate a "well informed, intelligent adult".

# of posts really doesn't mean much, but content does. Telling another poster to "beat it" when in essence they were answering your question (you know, "why didn't he do that during the campaign"). doesn't seem all that "well educated and intelligent" either. It was a response to your question, not an insult to your intelligence.

And, well, knowing the facts certainly never hurt anyone.

70. Facts?
I watched the campaign with a furvor and I NEVER saw Kerry respond like that. People may have formed an opinion that he did, but my original statement did nothing more than express MY opinion based on what I observed. The response that person gave was not what set me off, but his/her personal attack and "better than you" attitude. I attempted to keep my response to what I percieve as an unwarranted personal attack as "professional" as I could.

If you are a well-informed, intelligent adult, then you shouldn't be repeating mindless talking points. You would actually research before you posted. Also, you would follow the rules of debate which, the last time I checked, don't include spouting off, "Beat it" to your opponent.

So, being the well-informed, intelligent person you are, perhaps you could have researched before you posted this latest reply. You would have discovered that I am not a "sir" but rather a "ma'am."

71. My apology, Sir.....
I responded to what I believed to be a personal attack for not agreeing with you. In my opinion, Kerry never responded this way during the campaign, and if you think he did, that is YOUR opinion.I'm sure you will show me the error of my ways by sending me a deluge of facts, figures and numbers, but in the end, the forcefulness of his responses are a matter of opinion, both yours and mine.
As far as "sir", 1000+ posts and "beat it" goes, that was an attempt at lighthearted humor, something you obviously did not get, and for that, I am sorry you have no sense of humor.

Now beat it, I'm done with you. (again, humor)

That must be an unauthorized pic of Mr. Dick, Mr. Bunker Dick. You don't suppose the country should be concerned with what he's up to from his undisclosed location, do you? Maybe Democrats should keep provoking him with unauthorized opinions until he either comes out of his spider hole or has the big one.

65. And I found an article where Kerry and Murtha were working together
during the campaign. I wonder if they're double teaming now. Why would Murtha come out with his comments at the same time Kerry is blitzing the media. I wonder.

73. I doubt that they teamed up here. That's because Kerry backed off
from Murtha's heroism in regard to immediate troop withdrawal. Murtha has a very stiff backbone.

76. That comment doesn't even make sense
Murtha wants the troops withdrawn... to somewhere else in the Middle East, ready to be redeployed. I admire his stance, but I don't agree with it. Kerry plan will send the troops home to *America,* not to Saudi Arabia. Why can't you just give credit to two Dems who are proposing ideas to get us out of Iraq? Too much effort? BTW, Kerry defended Murtha today against Swift Boatesque accusations. The only rancor between the two of them is invented by keyboard warriors on DU and DKos who have no more productive use of their time than to try and drive a wedge between Democrats.
