Bill Clinton Calls Iraq 'Big Mistake'

Wednesday November 16, 2005 4:46 PM

By LARA SUKHTIAN

Associated Press Writer

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Former President Clinton told Arab students Wednesday the United States made a ``big mistake'' when it invaded Iraq, stoking the partisan debate back home over the war.

Clinton cited the lack of planning for what would happen after Saddam Hussein was overthrown.

``Saddam is gone. It's a good thing, but I don't agree with what was done,'' Clinton told students at a forum at the American University of Dubai.

``It was a big mistake. The American government made several errors ... one of which is how easy it would be to get rid of Saddam and how hard it would be to unite the country.''

1. Will the GOP now shut up with Clinton's 1998 quotes?
While Saddam should not have been argueing with the inspectors, he was not enough of a threat even in '98 to be overthrown. Why didn't Clinton try to overthrow him then? Because he wasn't a threat!

4. and it is true. beyond invading iraq, bush has fuck up every
step of the way and been incompetent and corrupt and in greed with iraq.

cllinton is right. about damn time he spoke up and said it.

i think a lot of the people gave plenty of time for bush to fix it, and they are just all saying, bush isnt going ot do shit, might as well start saying it now, all together
