religious group leaders are trying to rally hundreds of Christians to kneel around the Ten Commandments monument on display in the Alabama Judicial Building, if a court order makes such an act of civil disobedience necessary............

I say....SEND IN THE NATIONAL GUARD!

1. Wrong attitude
Arg... Don't say that. Let these pastors call on their congregations to protest, that sets a president, for other, more... liberal pastors to call their congregations to march on Washington against environmental racism, or peace. Let the conservitives have the first few acts, We'll take the finale and the encore.

4. They have the same right to civil disobedience
as anyone else. You can't discriminate against them because of their religion.

7. As a liberal Christian,
I agree with that approach. RW pseudo-Christians cause me no end of frustration when this is the kind of thing they're focusing all of their energy on. Just think what tremendous good could be accomplished if all that energy were focused on the truly important issues and problems facing humanity today!

But you're right, let the RW pastors make the first moves, and we will, indeed, "take the finale and the encore!"

2. You support the military oppressing freedom of religion?
That's not cool.

Americans have a right to express themselves freely.

8. Distinguish...
...between Eisenhower sending the 101st Airborne to enforce a court decision under the 14th adt, Kennedy's use of federal marshals and Army units, ditto, and a hypotherical Bush federalizing the Alabama Guard to enforce a court decision under the 1st adt.

Additional blue books are available.
