Which Republican would you be okay with in 2008
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 11:23 AM by 59millionmorons
Now I know we are all voting for the Democrats nominee, but just what if we lose. Which Republican president could you live with if he/she won. I believe I could live with Chuck Hagel. One of my biggest problems with Bush in 2000-present is I dont respect him. I disagree with Hagel on several issues, but I can respect him. And dont say none, that is a cop out.

1. I'm okay with Hagel
and would stay in the country if it were McCain.

I'd like to see anybody from this admin. WAY out of it.

2. Chafee
or Snowe. The rest of them, including Hagel, are too conservative.

3. None.
If we lose, who gives a s* about who the repugs run. This is the old "would you rather be beaten with a stick or rubber hose" conundrum. The assumption is you're going to get beaten, I say, who cares?

17. Same here - I don't trust any at this time
I think the rethuglican party will be running the show anyway. And more especially, it is too soon for me to accept that the neocons will not be in control if any rethug is elected president. IMO the country will need a long time to be truly purged of the neocons and their ideology which I believe is ascendant in the rethuglican party (GOP = Grotesquely Opinionated Party/People/Piss-ants)

15. Teddy Roosevelt
He was very distantly related to my family, as was FDR. Their family and mine both descended from the same Mayflower passenger.

13. None of the above.
I couldn't live with any Republican President. I've seen just how dangerous their ideology is, and its negative effect on America.

After God only knows how many years of Bush* rule, the last thing that this country needs is four more years of regressivism.

22. First lets be realistic
The Repukes have the money, thus they will always have an edge come election time. If I was forced to choose from the following list of "non wing nut Repukes":

Mcain
Giuliani
(thats it since the rest of the potential field are certifiable wing jobs)

I would be forced to go Giuliani simply because he is pro choice and doesn't reverse course every two seconds like Mcain.

That said, we need a good, strong, man of the people to step up and lead this country back to its progressive roots, and I think that person is Wesley Clark.

Either outcome would be a huge step up from the assclowns who are currently running the show.

23. Padraig Pearse or Senator Bail Organa

Patrick Henry Pearse (known as Pádraig Pearse) (November 10, 1879 – May 3, 1916) was a teacher, poet, writer, nationalist and political activist who led the Irish Easter Rising in 1916 and was declared president of the Irish Republic. Following the collapse of the Rising, Pearse was executed.

Senator Bail Organa was the First Chairman and Viceroy of Alderaan and the head of the Royal Family of Alderaan. An influential politician, he was a loyal Senator who commanded the ear of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself. Organa was deeply concerned with the stability of the Republic during the Separatist crisis.

I wouldn't be OKAY with any of them. OTOH, it would be difficult to get terribly exercised over a Hagel/DLcer match-up. I'm not sure I could work up the energy to vote, much less campaign and donate (at least to dem party--my energies would go to a 3rd party candidate), for the DLCer.
