We all know this hard working patriot deserves way more than that. But this is a government job and this is what he wants to do. He turned down job offers from high paying private law firms just so he could become a public servant. God I love this guy! :loveya:

12. Well I assume his apartment in D.C. is paid for by the government.
And his meals.

26. Maybe in DC, but
I don't know about Chicago, I read an article that said he bought a really nice house in downtown Chicago. AND he decorated the place very nicely.

13. Chances are, the govt is paying for at least one of those places.
In any case, I'm sure he's not hurting for money. Seems like the kind of guy that invests wisely

23. Not in Seattle, not in San Francisco
Disclaimer: We are not wealthy, but we live in a town 30 miles east of Seattle with a shocking median income of $84K per year...

7. Isn't he pure heaven? I have an old friend in her mid-fifties, and she is
a brilliant lawyer, a bright and beautiful human, and she's been a Public Defender her whole career, slogging away in the trenches for The People...but hey, she likes younger men, you know? "Martha and Patrick" - oh! How do I hook these two up???

9. Guess he cares about public service more than making making
a fortune. Have you noticed that most of the pubs only turn to public service AFTER they have made millions in the private sector.

I am halfway in love with Fitz myself. I wonder if he ever thought that, after choosing a profession as a public servant, he would have groupies?

You could have hundreds of women waiting outside the courtroom with posters boards and everything directed at him, yelling for him, but he would figure it's for somebody else. :)

15. Very true
After that remark he made to the photographer about there being 'no good pictures of me' or something to that effect, he'd probably be a bit surprised at all the female attention he's getting.

Yeah, that is definitely part of his appeal :loveya:

And I know he is apolitical but I'm sure if he had to choose, it would be with us liberals. He doesn't have that greedy mentality as the republicans do.:)

18. That's the starting salary at top law firms.
Coming from Harvard, he could have made that much his 1st year as an associate at a big-shot law firm. Instead he chose the prosecutor's office, which starts at $44,000 (and probably was even less then!). I think he's guided by his own ideals, not money or what people think of him. And that makes me like him even more. :loveya:

27. Our guy can go casual too
Way off topic, but I came across a site with some pictures of our guy during his trip to Ireland in 2001, and thought Fitzy admirers might like to see our guy "au casual", sans the suit and tie. In one of the pics he looks like he had a bit too much to drink, but nice to see him in something other than a suit.

31. That's so funny (you were being sarcastic weren't you?)
$140,300 puts him in the top 2%. Ironically the article you cite is criticizing the outrageous salaries the rulers of the U of C make.
It is telling that you seem to think $140K is not much, while the rest of the country is expected to lower their expectations.

For the long hours, all the work and time he puts in on these cases he does deserve more. Just goes to show you how strong his convictions are (no pun intended).
