Got a Reply From Clearchannel on O'Reilly Comments

Subject: RE: Bill O'Reilly Comments
Date: Mon, 14 Nov 2005 12:15:57 -0600
From: "Agnew, Bob" BobAgnew@Clearchannel.com
To: "Steve"
CC: "Dove, Gerry" <GerryDove@clearchannel.com>, "Wells, Susan" <susanwells@clearchannel.com>, "Medecki, Gabrielle" <GabbyMedecki@clearchannel.com>

Steve:

I appreciate your passion but question your challenge to the right to
free speech. If you listened to the show or know of either the radio
show or the TV show.. You understand that OL'Reill always makes outrageous comments and commentary..but nowhere does he "seriously:" advocate terrorism, or destruction" This was typical of his style..if you listen to Air America and the other side of the coin you find the same kind of commentary

This is not a matter of supporting O'Reilly or not..we support the right to free speech and opinion!

Please find me a clip from Air America in which one of the hosts called for a terrorist attack on an American city.

6. So I guess we CAN scream "fire" in a crowded theater!
While wearing a T-shirt that says "Bill O'Reilly and Clear Channel said I could do it!"

14. E-Mail
Notice how the guy at clearchannel questions my knowledge of the radio factor and the TV factor, for gods sake I own oreilly-sucks.com, and have for over 4 years, I know O'Reilly like a book. And this guy knows I own oreilly-sucks.com because it has the url etc. in my e-mail signature.

And I dont recall anyone at Air America calling for a terrorist attack on an American city, can you imagine the outrage from the right if he did.

BTW, Here is a copy of the e-mail I sent to clearchannel:

I am writing to you to demand you fire Bill O'Reilly for his comments on San Francisco. His comments were un-American and bordering on treason.

As long as he is on your stations I will no longer listen to any show
you have or buy any products from your advertisers.

Anyone who calls for a terrorist to attack an American city should not be on the radio or tv. If you keep him on the air you are saying you
support him, and that is wrong.

Steve

20. Then they should have no problem with...
"He, al Qaeda, stay away from all other commentators in America, but you wanna bomb Bill O'Reilly's house? Go right ahead." I wonder how he'd feel about that. He made the same comment about San Francisco based on his own opinions.

7. but....calling for a terrorist attack
to happen to an American city is kinda like saying that a Pennsylvania town will be smote or that the USA should assasinate the head of a country or that WE TORTURE....Uh...(Rosanna Rosannadanna voice)....Never mind

8. This is an asinine response.
You question them and they end up questioning your challenge to free speech and then they make up excuses for this windbag. How sad is that?

9. So it's OK to pull out the "outrageous persona" card
if you're expressing a RW point-of-view, but if you're coming from the other side, you're undermining our troops and supporting the enemy?

13. Clear Channel has just made their agenda crystal clear
As if I needed them to spell it out, but they are "morans." This unintelligible blather and right-wing pandering makes it unmistakable. I can't believe that's the kind of official representative they send out for themselves.

15. I'm pretty sure calling for a terrorist attack against a US city is not
free speech. I'm thinking its hate speech. And, I'm thinking he and pat robertson would, under normal circumstances, fall under the new ubergubbermint's patriot act restrictions and would, under normal circumstances be considered "terrorists".

of course, laws don't apply to republicans, even fascist new laws they themselves create, or maybe ESPECIALLY those.

16. Here's a suggestion: Report a terrorist threat to Homeland Security, only
claim its a "leftist" threat against an american city, made by a liberal radio/tv personality calling for Al Queda to attack an american city. See how fast they get moving.
Then, when they come to you and say "you said liberal, he's not a liberal', you feign ignorance and say, gee, I didn't think the politics of a terrorist mattered.

heads or anyone who otherwise shills for the administration's policies, actions, and pre-emptive wars.

22. Can we then put out a contract on the heads of O'Lielly...
and the entire Executive team of Clear Channel? I'm sure if we pull together enough money, we could hire some sort of hitman or men to take them out. I don't think the world would miss them.*

*for those who monitor this site, this is of course just sarcasm pointing out the absurdity of the crazy nut jobs you associate with....
